Such a shame the youngsters couldn't turn it around. So impressive until Chong's miss and the equaliser. Garner and Levitt in central midfield for me were the standout players as well as Laird at right-back. What's your reaction to the game?

That young lad played kinda like our senior team, lack of fluid in final 3rd, tried so hard to build from the back and ended up long pass, and bla bla bla.

Like Mourinho said…he can't understand why a team is happy losing a football game.
I am not disappointed with the loss. But what the hell was the purpose of the team selection? It's a good game to give the youngsters a chance to gel with the first team. But fielding the while youth team? Why? Even Ole didn't need to come then, Nicky Butt should just manage if you want to play that team.

The problem is that our fans always execrate a good performance with something outstanding. Just 4 example compare them with those Chelsea youngsters like Tammy Abraham, Mount, and others our players will be nowhere.. Everyone highly rates Tuanzebe but his positioning and passing was awful against a low opponents like Astana.. And look how good is Tamouri playing 4 Chelsea.. am sorry if am harsh bt it's true.

Honestly, I think it was a great audition for the first team inclusions. Williams, Greenwood, Garner have all but ensured their regular featuring.
Levitt, Laird are Frontline contenders moving forward.
It's gonna be a tougher road for the likes of Matic, Fred, Pereira honestly.
I think Ole wanted to see which of these youngsters are ready which ones to sheep out on loan. He got his answers
Best man United channel ever. Laird and Garner played well for me. Juve can have Chong or resign his contract and loan him out.
I don't know why United gives Chong as many first team opportunities as he has been given. I just can't see anything that makes me think that he'll make it as a first team regular at a decent club. To me he looks like a player who'll end up with a third tier team. He'll get opportunities with clubs at a higher level because he is a Man Utd player, but he'll get found out and drop down the divisions. Get rid of him United.
If Chong gets a new contract. he should go out on loan, as he is not ready for United's first team. he seems good at U21 level, but not first team.

Deflected goal and confirmation Chong and Gomes aint up to it. Seeing the game in a positive because so many of you have your heads in the sand. Ole wasn’t worried about the result? What not? Chong was very selfish, his decision making ability is not enough to breakthrough to first team. He was just dribbling aimlessly;just for himself. Garner is my man of the match for that game,very young but his decisions seem mature and he deserves first team time.
Chong, Gomes and Lingard and Shaw stood out for all the wrong reasons, they have time to improve, well Chong and Gomes do, but it just proves that only 1 or 2 of the youngsters will actually make the first team, but nice to see them get the opportunity to play .

Garner need just to be physically tough as a midfielder, decision making is pretty convincing he will be outstanding in first team midfield as far as long term is concerned. Chong is not convincing that he will be a good player for Man Utd.

What a game im proud of the kids. They showed what kind of potential they have. Astana were physical and kicking the boys around. The first half was just brilliant..had real challenge in the 2nd half..just loved how they showed fighting spirit after they go behind and eventually regain possesion again. Lots of learning points for the boys and a valuable experience for them. Its actually astana who are the ones that should count themselves lucky not losing to teenagers in their own backyard 🤣

To be honest in sumed up Man Utd in general. No creativity no create many chances and not being able to hold on to a lead. Just like the senior squad. I mean I'm all for youth and I understand the youngster wanted to play it safe but United were boring and passed sideways and backwards too much. To be honest I personally only saw one potential future United player apart from Greenwood. And that was the kid who played right back. Such a shame.
I’m not convinced with Chong, but others look good. With Chong I think he needs a season on loan. Same with a few others

you watch same game i watched, if our kids were that good we would have won 6-0, Lingard should be loaned out to phil neville and his team, not sure he would be in first team though.
i had high hopes for Gomez after he looked good in pre-season, but his confidence looks low, maybe we need to change training regime cos somethings not working, we get thousands of talented youngsters but in recent years they dont become the finished article, why ?
