  1. Honestly i cant believe this is the onpy clip ive seen of anyone mentioning the interview people wondering why arteta replaced him like it was some big mystery a manger whos trying to build a team good enough to compete for everything does not want to hear that his keeper has the attention span of a gold fish

  2. Had nothing to do with it.. he was bad at Reading the game, bad in the air, bad with feet. He was brave the first season with the passing. But season 2 he was weak.

When we needed the passing, the calmness etc. He didnt step up, he broke down.

Ramsdale hasnt Learned anything since joining Arsenal.

    Bad GK-technique.

You really think Arteta get rid av an World class GK… because of this? He got rid of him because he didnt get better and he was average

  3. For me I could see he was a fraud in the 4-0 pumping against Hungary. Ramsdale could have same atleast 3 of them shots and he made one save all game. Hes been okay on his day but as a starting keeper he’s been dog shit

  4. Ramsdale should never ever been signed for arsenal in the first place. His record before hand shows why and after he left also

  5. Just why!? This is utterly stupid! No one knows this even hypothetically. The GK coach is Spanish and coached Raya at Brentford and wanted Raya! It’s as simple as that. Stop being hyperbolic and clickbaiting with ignorant crap.

  6. raya is just better keeper i loved ramsdale but raya is just better than him on penalties on shot stop and he makes less mistakes plus raya is better than him on passing and build up play go watch him i know you will 100% agree with me..

  7. Arteta spoke about subbing goalis like the week before so i always thought Ramsdale was trying to protect his coach with that interview 😂

  8. Funny thing as well, is the fact that Gabriel and Saliba said that Saliba gets in trouble a lot for losing concentration during training – so it’s clear that it’s a huge deal to Arteta. He wants everyone to be alert from minute one until the end. I guess it’s also why he did that pickpocket thing with them at the team dinner 😅

  9. Love Ramsdale, but ultimately Raya better one in all aspect. Goalkeeping, catching crosses, build-up play… Really wish we rotate more with both keepers aiming for number 1 thou… But it is what it is

  10. It had nothing to do with the interview. He was just painfully average for us and would constantly make errors, and the stats backed that. He's found his level now at Southampton.

  11. Nope, the club already knew this. These were the main reasons. When he came apparently it's been said that he couldn't play that far off his line. Ramsdale also wasn't very good at claiming crosses, something Arteta massively values in terms of stopping shots from even happening and creating more chances. He also was far more fearful about how he passed the ball. After Arsenal 1-0 Man City Arteta spoke on Raya's errors, basically saying he told Raya to play those passes and some goalkeepers (Rambo) wouldn't be brave enough to continue playing those passes.

With Raya we clear up more danger quicker with him coming off his line or claiming a cross. We also have the ability to go far more man to man, splitting Saliba and Gabriel, trusting Raya too cover. We statistically play the highest line in Europe and have done since Raya arrived. Raya's passing has helped us break lines, counter and break a press, all things Ramsdale struggled with.

  12. Its so absurd that he's goalkeeping for southampton after being in the team of year 2 years ago. Specially considering clubs like chelsea, newcastle don't have a keeper of his level

  13. He was never an exceptional goalkeeper, I honestly don't know where that sentiment ever came from, he was a former Championship level goalkeeper that had a good run like all athletes do as his contract was running down.

Was never an Arsenal quality goalkeeper and couldn't believe they actually signed him in the first place. As a squad player not the worst, but definitely not 1st team quality.

That's no disrespect to him, as he looked an alright enough guy, but Arsenal have always had always been a club associated with top top level goalkeepers until Wenger bought Almunia and never replaced Lehmann – that was the turning point.

Failed to buy world class goalkeepers ever since (and no, a way past his best Petr Cech doesn't count!).

  14. Eh not true. He was just rubbish towards the end of that season and Arteta lost faith in him. It's not that difficult to see he's not good enough for a competing team. Now he's at relegated Southampton. Where he belongs.

  15. He just wasn’t the same after February, he made a lot of errors and even when we had to play him against Brentford he made a huge mistake that almost costed us the game.

  16. I temember watching him at Bournemouth and thougjt woe he is one of the worst keepers. Suprised when he went to Arsenal. He did really well at Arsenal, he really rose to the occassion and he probably should have played for England. Sad to see he went back to his Bournemouth standards
