Actual answer: English Premier League turned into Saudi Pro League for Europe and even the "weaker" English teams started overpaying for foreign talents. Bayern just couldn't keep up with the income of EPL
The vast majority of topclass Bundesliga players Bayern bought made absolute sense to get for their squad. The "weakening other clubs" part was merely a nice side effect and has always been blown out of proportion as a criticism. They are running a club, all their transfers are aimed at actually improving their own squad first and foremost.
Like, would anyone actually ever criticize the free transfer of Lewandowski to Bayern as mainly an attack on Dortmund rather than getting a world class 9 for free? It was the bargain of the century, regardless of Dortmund's strength afterwards.
Also, the argument that "the other clubs got better" is absolute rubbish when they just came out of a 11 year Bundesliga streak, they were more dominant than before during the exact time they bought less Bundesliga players than before. Nice contradiction, mate.
Why? Because THE PREMIER LEAGUE AND OTHER OIL CLUBS INFLATE THE MARKET AND PAY WAY TOO MUCH FOR TRANSFERS. There wasn't such a market back then that overpayed, Bayern CAN'T pay the same, they are not billionaire owned.

Lots of misconception in one video. Bundesliga almost remain the same. I would say Bayern became more dominant in last 15 years. Bayern never won title more than 3 times in a row before 2012-13. And i would say the players Bayern gets from Bundesliga almost remain same. Back in the day Bundesliga players used to go to Seria A which was seen as the best league. But guess what English people will never know cause they know nothing outside of England.

This narrative is so forced. Compare the number of bundesliga signings for all big clubs and you'll see there's not a big difference. The truth is that Bundesliga produces tons of talents and every big club fights for them, INCLUDING Bayern.
