  1. That's my biggest fear on the delta in my kayak. If you fish it enough you know how fast that tide can get moving. I've had to anchor and wait it out. Paddling between wind gusts. It's pretty damn scary actually.

  2. Now there is a comparison I have never seen. Have the top 5, or so, pedal kayaks perform in current and see how they do. Good stuff Greg….as always great vids!

  3. Great video Greg. I've been close to that situation in my Slayer Propel 10. I was BARELY able to peddle through an out-going tide near Ponce Inlet, FL. And I was over 3 miles from the inlet. That's how strong the current was. That was at the end of a 10 hour day with 10 miles of pedaling my kayak and fishing.

  4. Learned a good lesson ….. Hobie, HOBIE, HOBIE. Do the right thing bro.. It took some time for me to realize my boys pro angler out does my slayer hands down.

  5. Greg, dude you are SERIOUSLY the only person I instantly watch when your youtube post notifies me you got a new vid.

  6. Glad you buddied up and were able to make it back safely. Would a troller motor be worthwhile investment for situations like this?

  7. The main reason to get a Hobie just happened to you. I am getting a Revo 13 because I am old and have lost a lot of my strength. I don't ever want to get out there and not be able to get back. One of my friends got caught in the wind and had to be rescued by a power boat on a lake near Reno. It will mean more to you if you ever go off shore. Then it could be really serious. At least you could have beached and waited it out. Stay safe and win that tourney. It's your turn.

  8. So, I just got towed too, after the kayak fishing trip yesterday. My car hit a full size deer and they both died. To embarrassed to tell many people yet lol. My car is still at the towing shop with my kayak inside.

  9. Good vid man, crazy that the tide, current, and wind were that strong. I get it though, the wind can really whip out in Frank's and if that tide swing is steep in can be brutal.

  10. I say that is a testimonial for the Hobie drive, the speed side comparison against other pedal drives has many variable inputs to compare (wht/size /height etc.) but the volume of resistance against the propulsion units is conclusive, the Hobie generates more displacement I would think therefore creating more "torque"? I think I just made my decision as to what new Yak I am purchasing this coming season. Hey Greg, good videos man, I do enjoy them and the "show all" approach! Outback or Compass?
