Doesn’t inspire much excitement 🥴
Thank you for putting it into perspective at the end and rating each player A-D. To really put it into perspective, it would also be fair to rate Mexico’s squad position by position to see how our main competition lines up.
👍
We always want The Yanks to qualify for the Olympics but how is that possible when we only field our C tier players? The worst part is when the ignorant use the failure of the Olympic squad to shit on the men's program.
This squad lacks creativity, something even senior teams had struggled, scares me.
Will these players be replaced with higher quality for the actual Olympics if we qualify?
Great video as always… I have never really put too much attention to the U-23's as far as the process goes. How likely is it that the manager will add players that weren't playing during qualifying? Meaning Taylor Booth or Caden Clark?
When is the David Kerr interview popping up?
This lineup is gonna get killed by Mexico with that defense. But the attack alone should be able to beat DR, Costa Rica, and then Honduras/Canada. If we qualify, I pray we get at least some of the Europe kids, like Konrad, Aaronson, Otasowie, Palmer-Brown, and then Miles Robinson + George Bello on the MLS side, otherwise we won’t win a game most likely.
What's your take on Siebatchu? He just committed to the USMNT.
yikes.
Am I the only one who feels it’s going to be tough to win with this squad???
Great video! Yes I noticed how the caps and age are organized!!!
The leaks comes faster than the bots 😂
Dotson can play fullback so that might be good
Another solid video Pete!
When it comes to guys being left off rosters for Kreis and for GreGG camps (and even for USMNTers abroad with their club situations) we, as fans, have to remember that we aren't there every day. We really only get to see game action and highlights. We don't see the 90% of the behind-the-scenes training ground activities and daily grind. We kind of just have to blindly trust these coaches and staff members to pick the best players for their hopefully-successful systems they want to implement.
Does Tessman, for example, look better in our eyes than some of the guys who were kept on this roster? Sure. But did he look better in camp, day in and day out, with Kreis watching and building out what he thinks will be his winning system..? We will never know. Either way, lets go qualify for this thing and bring an even stronger roster this summer in Tokyo!
@alexlombardi_
I personally think Tessman is the best mid for these team. He is calm on the ball, decent technique, good soccer IQ, good height (6 ' or higher), good pace for a tall player, and probably the best potential upside for this group. Do you agree with this assessment?
This isn’t about Olympics but what do you think about Jordan Siebatchu committing to US. I know striker position has been worrisome for awhile now but the emergence of Hoppe, the hulk built and style of Dike, and Sargent finally getting into great form. I personally think Sargent is our guy, Second I’d say Dike just because he’s a beast and can win balls with his head inside the box, then a toss up with Hoppe and Jordan. I would love to hear your take on this.
I think Dotson was included because he's versatile. Can play multiple positions, including covering at full back in a pinch. He's also got more experience than the younger guys who might be a bit more technically talented.
Looks pretty bad, no?
Kreis went with the American classic athleticism over technical ability
What’s the hype around this? Trash players who won’t help come 2022. We wanna here about the starters
I definitely think Mexico have more fire power in midfield and up top compared to the US but it’ll be interesting to see if this US squad can try and keep Mexico at bay, very difficult tho
🇺🇲vs🇲🇽
How does Busio not even get a sniff? He is more dynamic than Djordje Mihailovic, Hasani Dotson. He can play 6,8,10 or on the wing. I've got a bad feeling. This seems like the classic one guy gets injured in the midfield and you realize you don't have a replacement
Dotson deserves a lot more praise, don’t sleep on him
Maybe I'm being a MNUFC Fan boy here … I disagree with you on Dotson, can score from range and can also fill in at outside back.
also, like you said, has a great work rate.
Love the channel
For those of us not that familiar with the rules governing the make up of the Olympic team roster, why aren't US players in Europe (like Christian P.) not on the O team roster? Also, can they be added later? Thanks
Good analysis overall. I think you're slightly underrating Lewis at this level – I think he has potential to look like a stud vs any of the opposition besides Mexico. I'm hoping for big things from Cardoso at this tournament. He has hands down the best resume out of any player on this roster. Mihailovic is pretty frustrating to me. He's never been that impressive whenever I've watched him, and has straight up gotten bossed out of midfield at times. Its most frustrating because players like Williamson, Bassett and Tessmann were all cut.
Had COVID not happened, the U.S. Olympic QUALIFYING roster would've been incredible in the Spring of 2020.
Dang, Alex got a shout-out.
I’m a mexico supporter but I like this channel I live to be informed about the USMNT
What about Chris Durkin?
Benji may be surprising but he showed last year that he can perform under pressure, the winning pen against NYCFC after all the commotion and smoke and refs saying the game was done when it wasn't and the winner against Columbus where he headed it over a defender cut in front other a defender where he could've easily won a pen and megged the keeper. He can also play striker or on the wing so he's a versatile player. As an Orlando fan I'm really hoping he is more than a super sub or occasional rotation player this season because he performed when needed and at his age he needs to become more of a starter he was really unlucky being against a DP and out Captain in Nani, Mueller having a breakout season and Dike having an insane rookie season, if Mueller or Dike didn't have very surprisingly good seasons I think he'd have started quite a few games.
Rip Mexico should dance around this team easily. With these players the US will at most be second place if the other teams are weak.
If we qualify what’s the likelihood our A team goes?
do you know when the roster for March friendlies is released?
Damn Mexico destroys this roster not even close.
Mexico still the giants of concacaf!
Thank goodness Klinnsman didn’t make it. He is horrible…
THANKS USA FOR UNDERESTIMATE OLYMPICS.
Unfortunately, this review was spot on and pointed out several weaknesses in the roster that came back to haunt us. 😔
Holy mary. I remember watching these games and thinking, this is all we have. (Thats before I really started following more online but in hindsight. Holy Crap Jason Kreis looks like a complete moron. Caden Clark, Cade Cowell, Joe Scally, Tanner Tessman, Busio, Kevin Paredes, Robbie Robinson (potentially, left Chilean camp for WQC), James Sands, Pepi of course.
Heck, add Bello, Miles Robinson and a few others to this list and I think it beats the team we put out on the field. But that is the way hindsight works.
