  1. If anyone here hasn't seen the first Lopez-Lockridge fight I'd highly recommend watching it when you can, awesome fight!

  2. LATINOS UNIDOS LATINOS THE STRONGEST: The Pride Of Sacramento – Tony "The Tiger" Lopez stamina and endurance was at the highest level. Relentless inside body attacks behind the jabs, timing movements and his ability too find his range in calculating the distance before he Executed his offensive arsenals, was Superior for an inside Technician fighter. Tony had also Power in both of his punches with Accuracy & Precision breaking down boxing rivals round by round as he did against Joey Gamache, stopping him in the 11th round; October 24, 1992. (Joey Gamache, was another Outstanding Speedy Boxer and had the pure heart of a "Gladiator"). Tony was also magnificent in his skills, in countering his opponents when Tony would either catch the punch off his defensive shell and quickly counter, or slip the punches of his opponents then Capitalized by way of countering off the miss fires of the opponent as the opponent would be deemed defenseless for Tony's Strikes, followed by Combinations. "Battle Tested" and "Battle Harden" Tony "The Tiger" Lopez looked also impressive defeating Rocky Lockridge (an Excellent boxer puncher and thus, the Jr. Lightweight Weight Champion Of The World) too become The Jr. Lightweight Champion Of The World in 1988. Tony, defeating Rocky Lockridge place Tony's boxing career at another level and thus, become FIGHT OF THE YEAR.

  3. I grew up in Sacramento and I dont know exactly what year it was because i was so young, like maybe 8 or 9 years old, but he was the featherweight champ at the time, sometime during 1988 or 89 ; but I ran into him at the grocery store and my dad told me to go up to him and say "hey champ can i have your autograph!?" My dad had taken me to Arco Arena to watch him fight 2 different times and I thought he was the coolest thing ever. He signed my paper grocery bag, lol. He was basically the first celebrity I ever saw in real life and he was really nice and kind of just normal… he was there by himself.

  4. Met him multiple times in my life… Saw him today at Starbucks. Chatted for about 10 mins or so… still a super humble guy. He will always be The Champ.
