Lille look like they will lose Renato Sanches in central midfield already. The thing that concerns me with Onana is I can find nothing linking Lille with replacement for either Sanchee or Onana. We cant leave it so late that they don't have time to get a replacement for the player. I fear perhaps they will only let one go

What I cant understand is that Moyes played masuaku throughout pre-season yet now he’s gone and we have nobody on the left except cresswell, what in earth was the thinking behind this? We are going to start the new season with exactly the same starting players as we fell over the line with last season.
Why does it take us so long to sign players?! Thats what i would look into. Most other clubs bid for a player and 24 hours later hes signed.
The best we can expect this season is a mid table finish with a little run in the Carabao, couple of rounds in the FA cup and a quarter final in the Mickey Mouse cup. Moyes out on his ear next summer. He’s not up to progressing this team, tactically nor regarding building lm the squad. He’s over achieved and in my opinion, won’t be able to take the pressure this season. Along with him, we will lose Rice and or Bowen and some players’ contracts won’t be renewed (rightly); Dawson,Fabianski and Ogbonna, thereby meaning even more players will be needed than currently is the case
This is not being negative or pessimistic, rather my outlook on the state of play and my prediction. Agree or disagree if you wish, but I see no other way than a mass rebuild at the end of the new season.
Sell Diop for 15ish to Fulham, loan an older out of favour PL CB for a season, get in Onana and either Kostic, Cornet or Dennis and I'd be happy. I think we'd do alright with Cress and Johnson LB and promote Ashby at RB. Not perfect but a huge improvement on the squad

Angelino was very good gong forward for City but defensively he was very suspect and many Man city fans have confirmed that!!
Maybe… just maybe… Moyes gives the board a shortlist of players he would like to bring in. They (presumably) are responsible for the transfer offers/wage offers/loan offers. How many players over the years have we supposedly 'bid' for.
I forgive many of his shortcomings because of his wonder goal against Chelsea last season!

Onana is a defensive midfielder in the mould of Kouyate (but much better) … more of a midfield destroyer and while excellent at tacking and breaking up play… he is not a creative player. Cornet would be an amazing signing…. just pay the release clause and get him in … a loan makes no sense at all…. to be honest not at all impressed by Angelino , would much rather Borna Sosa for the left back role or if thats not possible then Luca Pellegrini from Juventus on loan …… Kostic just messing us around while waiting for a bigger club ….and Cresswell should not be a starter in any position this year ….would be happy to see Benrahma or Vlasic sold to bring in funds …… forget Kostic and bring in Cornet and one of Sosa or Pellegrini
Why would Burnley trade that kid to a Premier League team? If he is Premier League quality, then they need him to get back up. If he's not good enough for them, then he should be lent or sold to a first division team.

I think Onana for me is a must. He is quality. Pay the money. Don't think Cornet is worth the money. Too injury prone. Got to be a loan if going to happen. I'd rather Angelino. Great player. Kostic is not coming. Said this from day 1. Why would he. All noise to drum up interest from other parties, and we fell for it AGAIN. As an outside one and most people won't agree and I don't think we would be able to get him but I'd take Werner from CFC. So similar to Bowen and I think Moyes could unlock it with him. Warner on the left and Bowen on the right, WOW.
geo…..man city may not sign the anderlecht l/back. Firstly he is anderlecht's only natural first team l/back. Secondly he has a ' Pubis Bone Contusion' (sounds painful whatever it is ?) and his likely return status is Unknown.

Good luck to Arfur , I was never convinced by him as a player , seemed to have some talent but not the application..However , he seemed like a decent person and was obviously well liked by the other players , and never rocked the boat when not selected.. Best wishes to him for the future
Our transfer efforts are a shambles. Yes I'm happy with the three that we've brought in but we are not dynamic enough to get these extra bodies in.
I'm hoping that there is something going on behind the scenes that we are oblivious to. Obviously Masuaku isn't a LB, but he COULD fill in if needed. Now he's gone, we are a player down. So (surely they can't balls it up….) that must mean that there is a player in imminently OR one of the U23 lads is stepping in
Masuaku always comes across as a decent guy.
