When he does fail, which is inevitable, he will be found out as he is too negative and defensive minded and picks players who are simply not good enough, Maguire, Dyer, Winks etc. The only world class players imo are Sterling, Kane, Grealish. Maddison, Foden and Pope in goals should be in the mix too. My bet is they dont get out the first group but you never know

Bert the inert Millichip said Robson either had to win the World Cup or go, so PSV got a great manager who went on to Barca, the top club job, he was European Manager of the Year 1996–97. Robson would have stayed as England boss for another 4 years had Millichip kept his mouth shut. England couldn't have been worse than they were in euro 92 if Robson was boss and we would have qualified for the 1994 world cup. That's why I, for one wish the press would just shut it. Southgate has taken us to the first semi final since Robson, he deserves those extra four years, like those years that the press robbed from the fans seeing a Bobby Robson England team.

Woke up just at the end but too late. Then the most dismal penalty shoot out I have ever seen England do, EVER. I don't know what it is, but England are incapable of playing consistently at the level of the sum of their parts, and Gareth Southgate clearly doesn't know either, else we would not be knocked out yet again! Yet again, I despair. I do not enjoy watching England play.
Southgate tactical mistakes galore in my opinion , your meant make decisions as the game progresses he never does makes his choices and never changes till it’s nearly to late , last night it was way to late and 3 terrified kids taking world deciding penalties was a joke , Italy was nothing special their manager knew exactly what to do , notice the Italian going down in first half for no reason whatsoever no one near him ,and it lasted five minuets reason for that was so simple to see the whole Italian team was at the sideline surrounded the manager camera only showed it once or twice but he was barking out orders they was all listening intently,after that incident the Italian game changed they attacked and changed their play and it was so obvious then later he took tired players off made all six substations What did Southgate do nothing !!! Only went backwards yet again , Kane was more than useless Sterling was to busy trying to get fouls and losing the ball , he can be a hero but also a selfish waste if he can’t get around the back of the defence , Southgate should have also changed a few players earlier rather than later , also he has a squad full of young talent but he chose to stay with same players all the time , yes we are not there to watch what’s going on during training yes maybe they was the right choices but some how I think not!! At times I really don’t think he deserves all this praise how he took us to the final blah blah well no it was those young talented players that took us to the final and just maybe under a different more adventurous manager we could have walked it , the Italian team didn’t know what had hit them during that first fifteen minuets Southgate should have made sure the we kept it up but no we fell off as usual it was then he should have started to think about changes , final words are we had a world class team for once the manager was a let down , sick and tiered of folks pointing at him as the reason we got so far , it wasn’t it was the squad
