  1. I didn't know about Big Gavs heart attack, so glad he's doing good now, big fan of Gav he seems like a great bloke. From watching his training he's working really hard on his conditioning and has dropped over 20kgs, looking forward to seeing him back this year.

  2. Great that Giants is mixing the events up this year !!! 200kg Stones was needed & axle is good for a change !! Sheild thrown in also !! I'm going 1.Tom 2.Luke 3.Bish

  3. Out of the line up, The only person who can beat Tom is Tom.
However, if Luke Richardson was there, that would be a competition.

  4. Can't discount Andy Black on these events– great thrower and stone guy. He killed the dinney stones last year, so hoping that carries over to the shield. Excited to see it all!

  5. Great news!🙌 however I think 210 kg Stone would be better imo but as long as it’s heavier I am happy😃

  6. My wild guess is Andy Black sneaks into top 5. He's mid table deadlift for reps (assuming it's Axle for reps, yawn), not amazing overhead but is arguably top 3 in stones and has a good throw. Not sure about the carry but the only comparable event (weight for distance) is the nicol stones which he's good at.

    Tom's win for sure.

EDIT: I commented before I heard Loz say Andy has a chance for top 5 😂😂

  7. In defense of crazy people the Arnold´s did lowered the weight on the Austrian Oak from 205 to 195 after Big Z "retired"… cause there would be no show lol

  8. I met Gav at Burger King at a service station on the way to Wales last summer. What a lovely bloke. Must've been before the heart attack Cause idon't think he mentioned it.

I was a little bit star struck if I'm honest. What a legend

  9. Do you know Jesus today? Stop running. It’s not too late. It’s time to come home. Jesus is waiting with arms open. Run to Jesus.

  10. Geez, I hope gav gets himself fully recovered. I said to my other half a couple of times last year that if he dropped 20/30kg it would be so much better for him

  11. Got my ticket the other day! Looking forward to this!
Completely agree – I can’t see past Tom for the win with these events, unless he’s not 100% focussed on it because of the Arnold’s but I think he’ll be up for it! Also think Bish will be up there.
Des Gahan is looking good on the shield especially!

Definitely think they should get a 12th man in – with it being head-to-head, it wouldn’t add any extra time to the show length, so I hope they give someone else a shot for some experience too 👍🏻

  12. Do you think it's more important to have a test of strength or a great show, for me the two do not always go together

How many events do you think is ideal to get the best balance?

  13. I am shocked about Gav, but he's training hard again, must have gotten the all clear by the cardiologists. Heart attacks dont end your lifting career. You just need to learn how to adapt.

  14. Feels like it's lacking a max or just 'big lift' event. No deadlift for max, no squat, awkward clean with the axle rather than a big press, no pushing or pulling of big things. No big frame carry or grip events either. An odd one, all told.

  15. Hi. Going to Britains, not been to a giants live show. How long does it typically last ? Looking to book train travel. Looks like it starts at 5pm doors open at 4.
