As a Spurs fan I couldnt be happier we scored but what the f were Shaw and Onana doing🤣🤣Onana was still in the middle of the goal and only seemed to realise that the ball and player were at the front post after the ball was in the net and Shaw just decided that defending was no use so he just stood there and tapped it in😭😭😭
Did you notice the missed pass from Bruno where spurs countered that into a goal? This is exactly what he does. The stats he racks up often mask the number of times he loses possession or how poorly he plays. He struggles against high pressing teams or in systems that rely on ball possession. Bruno only truly thrives in a counter attacking setup, which is why he performed exceptionally well under Ole.
If he moves to clubs like Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, or Inter Milan, he would surely thrive. Just imagine one long ball over the top to Mbappé it would be deadly. But if he were to play for a team like Barcelona or Manchester City, you’d see the real Bruno exposed. He would lose possession often, struggle to play through tight spaces, and his lack of technical finesse would be evident.
He’s not someone who excels at pressing, cutting passing lanes, or man-marking either. That said, Bruno is quite a rare player, he can play anywhere on the pitch. He’s featured as a false nine, on either wing, as a number eight, or in his usual number ten role.
However, if Manchester United were to bring in a technically gifted replacement who’s comfortable in tight spaces, it could be a game changer. Then they can play possession football according to Amorim's philosophy. They should consider selling Bruno while they can still get a good fee, similar to how Manchester City handles their transfers.
Also, have you ever wondered why no major team has seriously shown interest in him so far? The reasons I mentioned above explain it. Fun fact: there were only two clubs seriously interested in Bruno when he was at Sporting, Manchester United and Spurs. And who was managing Spurs at the time? José Mourinho, a coach known for his counter attacking philosophy.
