Just a statement that a 43 year old that has lived and breathed usmnt for 4 decades has finally decided after too many failures and disappointments to count over the last few years in all facets of soccer and culture at large I will never cheer or be bothered to care how the usmnt program is doing. I don't expect any fans to care but it's worth noting that the state of things in the USA especially with a sport that has been built with our Latino community has been so abysmal that there's no love or pride left, just a bitter taste and guilt for feeling sad about cutting the dead weight of a backwards and unfair environment.

lets see. the players, coaches, federation, alums, insiders, etc…..all say change is needed. yet we just get the same mediocrity……certainly for last 15 years (but could argue nothing has really changed since the commitment in 1994).
'The culture needs to change.' No shit. It's really, really simple. We have a FULL OF SHIT PROBLEM in the U.S. when it comes to soccer. It's not going to change anytime soon. We have an amazing arrogance about the sport that's based on NOTHING. Our players are pampered wimps. Our national team is not a MEN'S national team. They're boys. Period. They behave like boys, and they play like boys.

I wish Adams would hold his friends to account. We need one leader that will be willing to do that (it’s what we had in previous generations). It’s the only part of his character that is needed to become one of those leaders this team deeply needs

Tyler Adams is great, but it's not like he is beyond reproach. He is a part of that "leadership council" and clearly isn't holding anyone accountable or being the leader everyone is claiming – just once again saying we need to change things but we have been hearing that for years.
When we were losing in the nations league and playing poorly, why wasn't he being a vocal leader and firing up the squad or holding anyone accountable? It's always too friendly amongst these guys unlike in the past when they weren't worried about telling their teammate they let everyone down.

Is it me or are just a US men's team outclass in any European country The Swiss are using their b team and they're making a US men's team look like AYSO The US men's team will never be good they just don't have the heart to play against Europeans they have a few that have the heart to play in Europe but they don't have the heart as a team to function against European teams I would say the USA men's barely if possible get out of the world cup bracket they won't win their bracket for sure France will beat them but they may not even get out of their bracket they are absolutely abhorrent I don't think this coach can help them he can rescue them burn halter nobody wants him back He's not going to do anything for him He's too conservative The US men's team is just not there
You can listen to this interview and figure out everything that's currently wrong with USMNT. You don't even have to read between the lines, it's all being said openly, the mentality is on display for everyone to see. It's never about a team, it's all about the "players" and players "proving themselves". And if they don't prove themselves, then those players are not good enough, etc, etc… During the leadership question, he meanders again to the opportunities for players to "show what they are worth". Is this your leadership contribution to the team? It's not about the players, Tyler! It's about the fact that you are not a team, you are just a collection of players that when they play together they are less than the sum of all it's great european elite parts. And that's why the results are what they are.
The Donovan's USMNT was a team that was much greater than the sum of all of the players. And that why everybody loved them.
Its obvious the players don't respect Pochettino. When he told them to leave their golf equipment behind, they decided not to show up.
