  1. Great list Ben, can't knock any placing, however watching this only reaffirmed my belief I wouldn't swap Robins for ANY of the other 23, just fits Cov so perfectly

  2. That's fair for us, I think Leam will do extremely well this season, and many Wigan fans believe as I'm sure you've heard alot of yourself is that Leam was infact the brains behind Paul Cook when in the Championship. One thing he does that Paul didn't which was a big factor in our poor form is that Leam will actually change the system if it's not working and that our current squad for what I believe right now can easily compete in the bottom half of the Championship. Time will soon tell

  3. Richardson has done 2 years. Was with us in administration and kept us up against all odds. Then the following season, won us the league. Amazing manager, not a bad word to say about him. Really think he can go to the very top, never short of changes when they're needed.

  4. Thought-provoking stuff again Ben and I like the tone of the video, thanks. Some quality managers in the division. Corberan got my vote for last season, with Jones and Robins also working magic on a shoestring. Can't argue with the top 2, whilst Beale and Tomasson are dark horses. I'm interested to see how Russ Martin does and which loanees go where

  5. Forest fan here. I think you're a bit harsh on Ince. His record is mixed, certainly, but he's not been a disaster anywhere, and has had some spells of real success that show he's got something – even if the conditions and group need to be right for him. Reading were in freefall when he arrived, were odds on to go down, and he kept them up fairly comfortably. I was impressed. They face another tough season, but if he steers them through it I think he'll be within his rights to claim that he was ovelooked for too long.

  6. Chris Wilder #1? Agree, so long as you don't give him large sums of money to spend/waste,. and yes, I've only mentioned 1 manager 🙂 but no boo hoo lol

  7. Not a bad list, the main one I'd disagree on is Dean Smith. He spent a fortune in the Championship and Premier league, considering Norwich won't give him anything like those resources I think he'll struggle.

  8. Can't really argue with that list. As a Watford fan, I'm hoping Edwards has the impact we are hoping for. Things seem to be looking up in terms of info coming out of the club and I'm much more excited for the new season than I was even a couple of weeks ago. Also as a Watford fan it pains me a little to say Jones could have actually been even a little higher in the list. Not a fab of his for obvious reasons but what he did last season alone was really impressive

  9. Hi Ben, Terrier here! Enjoy your content. Your assessment is pretty good in my opinion. My top 3 – Smith, Wilder, Corboran. Jones is overated! Bruce has had his day! Both will tumble down the list as the season progresses. Just my two penneth!

  10. I really think Tomasson is a great fit at Blackburn, I'd have them as my dark horses next season for a top two spot despite the loss of Leninham. Kompany is a risk as Burnley manager and don't think he performed that well in Belgium so I think they'd be a good shout for biggest underachievers next season.

  11. The only manager I would swap for Mark Robins is Chris Wilder, they are my clear top 2. Jones has done a great job @ Luton but the time wasting against us was a joke.

  12. From a neutral perspective Alex Neil will be one to watch now he's guided Sunderland to promotion. I've long held the view that he lacked experience when he guided Norwich to the PL. He'd started his managerial career at Hamilton and was doing very well there hence Norwich approached him. He arrived at Norwich in January and at the end of May Norwich won promotion. Another season in the Championship may have helped him but that's hindsight. Steve Bruce has his critics but he keeps getting hired.

  13. Agree that Arveladze is unproven in England but how his experience makes for 21st when a guy with one season in League Two is 5-6 places higher is a bit random. Jon Dahl Tomasson is very similar and was 10 places higher. Top 10 are probably fair. Not too much to disagree with. Good effort.

  14. Naturally I'm going to be quite biased as a Blade, but I feel like Wilder isn't the best manager in the league. He's definitely up there, but he's extremely stubborn- to a fault. He has no plan B; and whilst his plan A tends to be exceptional, it unravels quite easily. And that's not to mention his extremely hit-and-miss transfer record.

I was dead against the appointment of Heckingbottom, but he's certainly won me over now. He's proven to be more versatile than Wilder and got results with a more limited selection of players. Could Heckingbottom have matched Wilder's achievement in Sheff United's meteoric rise up the divisions? Probably not. But we'd have got more points had he been in charge for the entirety of the 20/21 season- if not even made a go of staying up.

  15. Some very good managers in the championship this season. My personal favourites are Mark Robins and Nigel Pearson. Robins has been brilliant for Coventry, having his team playing some good football and being an enjoyable watch. Pearson I've always loved since his Leicester days and in him Bristol have an exceptional man manager and builder of team spirit and foundations. They should do well with him.

  16. i'm not an expert same as yourself but…
respectfully i only disagree with a few..

if Beale is 24th [ rightfully so ]

    why is …Edwards 16th? Way Too High….
    Edwards seems too high IMO.

    Warne 15th … Too High
To not learn from 4 back to back promotions / relegations
    you can't have 9 managers under him… SURELY….

    Bowyer 13th… Too High…
    relegated Charlton without a fight…
dumped them for Birmingham & finished 20th
played wingers as left / right backs.
& as fans of Birmingham have said zzzzzzzz football.

    Tomasson 11th Why??
0% proven as manager in england.
    under all those above ^^^^^IMO

    Dean Smith 2nd ….should be number 1.
did well in prem … & has done a lot of things for foundations…
of Walsall , Brentford & Aston villa.

Robins , Rowett should be slightly higher.
& Wilder should be slightly lower.

    apart from that Ben…
you are still the king of football on youtube.
    ⚽🏆

  17. After watching the great channel "Behind the Line", superb, I cannot believe……yes I cannot believe the Championship, the division below the Premier League could end up having a higher average attendance than….Major League Baseball by the end of the 162 game regular season. The unbelievable decline in interest, TV ratings and Stadium attendance in what was America's past time is alarming. Keep up the great Vids Ben.

  18. I can't believe you have Edwards so low. He's the new Pep. 100 points this season and Champion's league in a few years time. Sorry, been away for a season and forgot the bias at the door rule. He looks like everything the fans have been crying out for but I think you have been fair. Potential. let's hope he gets some time to get his ideas across 🤞

  19. Heckingbottom 10? Come on if he didn't prove himself last season he never will, you've got Bruce, BRUCE at 5! How does that work? Last season Hecky was in the top 3 and one of the others was promoted and the other relegated. As a Sheff U fan I am a pessimist (if it can go wrong it will, I mean the only reason we failed to Forest was the Osborn slip) but Hecky will still get us in the play offs.

  20. Steve Morison at no. 20? As a Bluebird I happen to agree with you. I fear for the forthcoming season to be honest, especially as 'God' is no longer joining us

  21. So here's to you Russell Martin Swansea love you more than you will ever know,
    Whoo! Whoo! .
    Up the swans🔥🐏🐑⚽🏐👌👍👏😆😆😆😆😂😂

  22. Dean smith well overhyped, he had a massive budget at Villa and only got them up through playoffs, also underachieved in the prem, poor decision.

  23. As a Derby fan hate to say it but Chris Wilder has performed miracles with Boro so far. After taking over last season he transformed them and was unlucky not to get into the playoffs. Learned his trade at a local non league team in Derbyshire so all credit to him for starting at the bottom of the tree and not the top as so many top ex. P/L players seem to think they can do. That includes Rooney and Kompany. Rowett also ex Derby as also put together a strong side at Millwall and were also unlucky not to make the play offs.

  24. This video aged well bowyer was sacked for John eutace and I wouldn't know where to rank him here because his stepped up from non league although seeing the lads train looks some potential hopefully the lads can do what there doing in training and bring it on the pitch

  25. Agree with no.1…but I'd say Pearson, Tomasson and particularly Bruce are all placed too high. Also, whilst it's clear why Beale is bottom, I think most can already tell he's a better manager than Paul Ince.
