its of course there is no any deflection. you can realize that by looking at the way the ball rotate. if there was any deflection by the defender's leg/foot . the ball would rotate backward while it moves toward the net.A SUPERB GOAL

I remember watching Giroud during this period of time when he scored this goal. I still remember this because it seems like he was a totally different player from what he had always been…he scored skillful goals that involved dribbling and long range shooting…I remember being in shock…its like he was possessed by another player…but that player left and never came back..so strange…does anybody have this same feeling and noticed this same "period"?
