That’s a great fight – I watched Morrell from some time and had him as another great thing. Khataev I remember from the Olympics and was curious how would he do as a pro because has a style to do very good from that I saw at the amateurs. And BANG here it is Morrell vs Khataev.
Regarding the Morrell himself – with Benavidez he fought worse as he actually could, like he wasn’t ready to become vicious if necessary, Benavidez was and that’s why he won, even though I still see Morrell as a better fighter overall the question remains if he has heart for a dog fight when things go ugly. Benavidez knew that and Morrell should have known better. If lessons learned then he might be great but I personally doubt now, he seems to be a good boy and he’ll win always a boxing match but not a battle not to mention war…
David dont belong with Beterbiev or Bivol. They both beat him.. They technically too good for him. I doubt he makes 168 weight for Canelo. Canelo will also not include him in his fight plan with Turki. Canelo.dont have the size and motor to go with DB for 12 rounds. He can not hurt DB, so he wont take that fight. DB pretty much waiting to fight for the LHW titles once they dropped by the winner of Bivol/Beterbiev.
Morrell dropping the Monster deserves rematch. Who ever wins fights Bivol, if not I'd like to see the Monster vs Bivol/Beterbiev winner. If DB beats one of them then Canelo cant duck him anymore as Bivol beat Canelo.
