  1. The one thing we've learned from VAR is that the referees doesn't understand the game very much. It's like diving. We can see it a mile away when someone dives, and they can't. They go there's a slight contact so it's a foul. You have to actually trip the person or push him out of balance. Take the chance away from him. A player feels a slight touch and then dives is what we need to get rid of.
Refs just don't understand the mechanism of the game and VAR isn't gonna change that.

  2. The video assistant referee is equipped with coverage of the football pitch from multiple angles to capture Candreva. Furthermore, the goalkeeper was rooted to the other side of the goal, so what play exactly did Bonucci interfere with being less than 1 meter from the goal line with the trajectory of the ball destined to land where it landed.

  3. The Juventus goal should have stood, Candreva kept Bonucci onside lol the refs really blew it but they always react this way to Juventus home when the players start complaining about calls. Ref lost his head, it happens but Juventus were bad.

  4. There has been three Juve goals taken away from VAR…and it's only been 6 games.
Each one of those goals was 3 points for Juve which would have put them on top of Serie A by now.
I honestly don't see the refs taking all of these Juve goals, since the start of VAR, if Juve didn't win 9 straight Scudetto.

  5. Don't let us start doubting your football knowledge Gab cause if you use a platform of the level of ESPN and say that VAR made a wrong decision by chalking off Milik's goal then you know nothing about football man.Bonucci was in an obvious offside position and he interrupted play by trying to go for the ball which makes the goal null and had he not shown any intention of going for the ball,VAR wasn't even going to intervene into it man so hopefully I've properly schooled you about that disallowed goal.

  6. This should become a case. Juve has to file a dispute and get the two points. This is Calcio Poli at it's finest. Someone's paying the refs to screw with us.

  7. I can't speak for other league because I only really follow Serie A but the way VAR is used in Italy is nothing short of embarrassing!
There is no refereeing/VAR common sense applied, then there's the handball calls were they are not capable of differentiating between handball & ball to hand.
Some of the penalties given because the ball touched a hand are nothing short of laughable. Even then what makes it worse is how some are given for the tiniest totally accidental non intentional handball in some cases but not others which often times depends who the teams are!
When VAR came in I thought great we don't have to worry about inept referees, what has actually happened is that it has highlighted how poor the referees are and also highlighted that they can just as easily if not even more so manipulate results with their VAR stupidity!

  8. I thinks the refs should do press conference after each games… Giving answers about their decisions… Make them accountable for their actions.. They should face the press like the players and managers does..

  9. Its a shame how we played in the first half and that we neededtill stoppage time to get the winning goal. Its a shame to hear Allegri defense himsself, the team, and referee. It is a shame var didnt show Candriva to the referee

  10. Why does ESPN use barely 5min on an Italian game but they spend minimum 15min discussing a single Premier league moment??? Come on guys…

  11. VAR is great. It truly has cleaned up many wrong decisions referees have made. Refs suck and if VAR existed my whole life, the sport would've been better for it.
Just like Goalies finally having to keep their feet on the line for a penalty. It's a great rule. So many cheater keepers got away with cheating and I'm glad it's over with. The true VAR problem is every league interprets things how they want, mainly fouls/penalties. The premier league basically needs to see you murder someone to call a foul.
In this example people are talking about different things: 1) bonucci 2) VAR itself

The rule says interference is just trying to play it, no touch needed. If they ignore the defender keeping him onside, that's on Serie A. If we had robots, all sports would be better.

  12. Gabriele Marcotti understood perfectly what it's going on here! There was also the referee assistant! They are all a bunch of clowns! The VAR first to not have every angles! The referee to not ask other all the referees's member what they saw and to take only 7 sec to judge that there is an offside and lastly the line assistant referee to not communicate and to be so passive while every juventus players try to speak with the referees getting all red cards! Juventus need to make an appeal for this! This is beyond absurd! Incompentency level 10000000%

  13. The referee's decision in Juventus match is trending worldwide, an achievement for Italian football lol. what a shame

  14. how about scrapping the offside for the corner kick altogether? if there isn't one one on a throw in, perhaps time to simplify the rules.
