Have we forgotten that this saints team were defeated over a long period. These players are still in a mental state and as we know many of these players are not good enough. Long term recovery to rebuild the team. Mid table at best and wait for next season to judge to owners. Not convinced the owners understand football?

We are miles away from being a top two side, the Championship needs power and pace and we have failed to add that for 3-4 years. Downs was invisible today but he did try and make runs in behind but no one ever played it. Stewart and Archer useless and Stokes wide men tormented us all game.
Ultimately it took the Russell Martin team that got promoted 9 games to click into gear, so it's too early to panic.
I get that Will Still doesn't feel he has the wide options available to ditch 3 at the back yet.
But literally every Saints fan can see that Armstrong up top on his own doesn't work and has been saying that for 3 games now. Thats something that doesn't need more bodies to fix.
Stoke played very hard and were first to the ball a lot. Confident team who look as if they’ve played together a lot. You should read Will Still comments. He’s so sharp. He sees what we see.
We need wingers and need to play through the middle as well. Just crossing the ball is so predictable. Our strikers have made runs off the shoulder of CBs but the passes never come. Get the ball wide and send crosses in. Easy to defend when it is predictable!
Wondering why Southampton havent played BBD ? Proven goalscorer in this league? Has he gone off the boil or disliked by Still? Thought he would be the big no9 you need to join up play head a few in ?
Saints needs some signings like us Wolves do else it will be championship for both next season , but at the moment Wolves are more clear cut to be there
What game am I watching? Why does everyone think we need a striker? Our strikers haven’t received the ball in good positions. Our midfield is defensive and lacks creativity. Do we have a striker that can create their own goal chances? Robinson is the only person who drives the ball in the box. Our creativity is predictable. Cross in the box and balls over the top. We can’t play down the channels.
Sport Republic has left it so late. We got how much more for Dibling. Not much so we could’ve sold him last week. Spors doesn’t seem to be able to sign anyone outside of England and Germany
Flynn Downes makes too many errors. Trying a ridiculously risky dummy against 3 opponents. Not being aware of your surroundings. Not checking shoulder. Playing blind. No tracking back. Being out of position. It happens too often with Flynn. Yes their goalkeeper won the game for Stoke, but Flynn equally lost the game for us. Remember the header, he put wide. Flynn need’s coaching. How good are you Will Still? Think Mark Robin’s just tactically was superior. Solve Downes and we get promoted. Saints have too many billy big boys.
No way saints are challenging for the prem with this team and this manager. Great advertisement for walking football in the 2nd half. No energy, no urgency. Very frustrating.
We are not good enough, simple as. With this squad I dont think we will be in top 6. We have no threat going forward, no width, the midfield doesnt work and the defense with jack stephens in it is shocking. so much work to do and WS is not going to change it.
You're spot on with that review. Would have been a different game altogether if Robinson scores in the first half. From a Stoke perspective, we were excellent once again and deserved all 3 points as you quite rightly said. No doubt you'll be up there come the end of the season. Stokes No 10 & 12 Ran the game, With saints playing 2 holding CDMs and a back 5, there was no creativity and played as if they were the away team.
