He's done 5 years as our first choice RB in the top league in the world and 3 of them have secured European football, He's only 28 and fought off all his chalangers as Emery still picks him first choice, he's a full international and to get this level of experience through the door to replace would cost more than PSR will allow us.

When he started he was defending crosses from left footed wingers and now he's defending right footed players cutting in for a shot with fullbacks running past him. I also feel that a lot of teams have their best player out wide left to cut in for that shot. I reckon he's our most worked defender and an off day can look really bad for him. I also agree with Luke that Emery is the one telling him to cut back in. When Emery joined Matty was all about bombing forward. He spent a year beating that out of him. I remember it being a year where Matty was constantly looking at the dug out and being told he was in the wrong place. Matty adapted to what was asked of him. And lads looking at highlights of other fullbacks are only seeing exactly that….the fecking highlights. We need some lowlight videos on youtube to balance it out.
We are getting rid of so many players but not bringing anyone in. With the fixture pile up around christmas and europa league we are really going to leave our selves short and god forbid if we get injuries to the likes of watkins, konsa or torres.

Soon people realise there’s no room for sentimental crap in football the better. Team needs a revamp and 80% of the dean smith/ Gerard team need to go, great servants but you ain’t going to keep getting UCL with these lot. Sick of the positive parade, we could be 19th with 2 games to go and clueless prats will go… “but we was in the championship 6 years ago” let’s not improve then and praise averageness😊

Cash is a premier league RB, not a champions league RB sadly. A great backup so id keep him but why wont he play Garcia?!?!
He did a bad cross against Newcastle, but he put his body in so many places to block Newcastle attack and was probably contender for man of match.
