As much as I wanna qualify asap. Part of me just wants to tie in Costa Rica so we can qualify at BMO against Jamaica so I can be apart of the madness 😂
I won't lie and say I'm not nervous about the Costa Rica game. Mostly just due to our injury situation. If they score early and turtle for the rest of the game it'll be a long day. If we score first or even go through the 1st half tied this will be a clean win for Canada. Really happy to have Coach Herdman at the helm!
I really like Herdman’s words in this video. He seems to make sure the team has the right mindset going into these crucial games, and to take them one game at a time. We’re really fortunate to have him.
My father immigrated to Canada in 1953 at the age of 4, from the Netherlands, on a two week boat trip across the Atlantic with his parents and baby brother. I’ve grown up in a very Dutch household to say the least. My dad has been nothing but proud to be Dutch while also being extremely grateful to his parents for giving him the opportunity to grow up and raise a of family of his own in the amazing nation of Canada. I grew up hearing the stories of the Netherlands rise to football stardom in the 70’s, the adaptation of total football, the amazing Canadian team of 86 that made the World Cup, and the fall of the NASL with the lack of passion for football in Canada. Some of my first memories were the 94 and 98 World Cups. I started playing soccer at 6 years old, so learning that Canada won 2000 Gold Cup was so inspiring! Shortly after I found out the Dutch were not qualifying in 2002, so I had to wait 4 years to consciously watch a World Cup finals but my only team to cheer for wasn’t there. The next 4 years took forever but finally 2006, then 2010 making it to the final and 2014 v.Persie header…. It’s truly a shame that football wasn’t taken seriously in my area because my dad was an amazing coach, however every step of the way he had to fight adversity from the people in charge, to manage my, and eventually my younger brothers team. Even being denied participation in provincials because he was coaching a bronze team and no one wanted to be embarrassed by being defeated by a lower tier team. The difference between Europe and Canada. My whole life I’ve loved Canada Soccer while being so proud of my Dutch heritage because I had a team to cheer for on the world stage. I was born in 1990, it’s not an understatement to say I’ve been waiting for this my entire life, because through my dad I’ve experienced decades of football for both countries, however now I can finally cheer for the country of my birth on a regular basis. I no longer need to accept that Canada doesn’t play football. Wether it’s on Thursday, Sunday or Wednesday, when Canada does wrap up qualifying for 2022, I will share a cry with my dad because when the next World Cup begins, I will have a team I hope beats the Netherlands! I hope you get the gist of what I’m trying to say! Go Canada Go 🇨🇦❤️💪🏼
It will be incredible to watch Canada in the World Cup. Alphonso Davies and Jonathan David are such amazing world class talents. Great work Mr. Herdman.

Like the background audio choice, anything better than gawdawful rap, just a little loud in relation to Herdman

We want Marcelo Flores! Mexico doesn’t want him. Get the deal done John! Pour on that charm…
I was a severe doubter of Herdman when he got the job but he doesn’t possess any of the negativity that most other managers have !
