The real question is should they only stick with a midfield two, and i think the answer is no. It's clear at this point the two-man midfield is not enough against good teams.
Kone showed VERY BRIEF examples of being a special player when given chances, but not enough to justify his continued selection. Choiniere is a workhorse in the same vein as Eustachio. The playmaking mf going forward will likely be Saliba or Sigur
We need more than 2 in midfield. It's complete delusion to believe that Eustaquio and another player could hold the midfield. How many times are we going to get burned to realise that it doesn't work? John Herdman made the same mistake. We don't have the midfield players to play with 2 strikers. The game against Guatemala should be like an alarm bell, and stop this naive football.
How long have we been trying to figure out who should play with J. David and who should play with Eustaquio and no answer has emerged? It’s time to go with 3 in the mid and only David up top. 4-1-4-1 that goes into 4-1-2-3 in attack with Davies and Buchanan on wings, but Davies must be up and down the pitch, retaining defensive duties. Kone (and Saliba), along with Davies and Tajon, become who David plays off of. But I agree with Jordan that we’re not likely to see that from Marsch, and if we don’t see it this next window, it’s too late.
Nice to hear you guys calling it like it is and not pulling punches with players and the coach. These hard questions and difficult conversations are part of becoming a legitimate footballing country and we need more of this from Canadian soccer media.

I think the best display of Marsch's tenure was against Uruguay in Copa, where they played in a 4-2-3-1. So it wouldnt take much to go back to that.

I agree with KJ on the 3 in midfield. Would love to see Canada try that this fall.
