Your not being unrealistic. All the eggs were put in the lingard basket and greenwood broke it against its will. Zapata should of been pursued along side lingard the club and everyone knew man united were playing silly buggers. Lingard was bound to not happen and I hope willock can reignite his second half of season form or this young lad can break in and play off big woody
I hear you and it could become a concern, but lets not jump into a depression so fast. The other players we've just got (Bruno, Trippier, Burn, Targett) will make a huge difference on how we play from now on and will have an impact on every player on the field, including Wood, who most likely will be served far more goal chances compared to what he has gotten in his first matches. Lets not forget his stats up until this season, which is very similar to Wilson's. He's been poor so far for us, but a lot has happened to the squad since last game. Lets give the guy a chance.

All well in good saying spend the 50 million on striker x but your not a business expert what would happen with ffp if we go down should be grateful about signing England international trippier, Brazil international Bruno, double figures in a poor side wood, villas player of the season and burn who’s been very good
Ultimately, our defence is is the reason that we’re in this position and that was deffo the priority to strengthen in the window. Obviously would’ve been nice to get a couple of attacking options in the window but there are deffo goals in this team. ASM can create lots of chances and we do have Wood who is clinical and very good from crosses. We also now have trippier and Targett as full backs who can deliver great crosses and players like Wood and Willock can get on the end of them. I’m sure Bruno will be looking to add goals and we all know shelvey can pop with a few here and there. As long as we’re more solid as a unit at the back and not leaking goals like we have then on the break and the counter attacks I think we’ll be fine. Trippier on free kicks around the box too is always dangerous and always a chance of a goal. Personally I’d have like to have seen a new GK through the door to sure up the back even more cos I think Dubravka is passed it now. Making too many mistakes for me. A new GK has to be one of our top priorities in the summer to continue to build this defensive unit.
Matty I agree we could of done with another striker but you can’t blame the owners it’s not as if they didn’t try but if clubs or players don’t want to come then that’s that.
Bamford has missed 15 games this season and they don’t have another striker but still get goals from wide players, midfield and defenders chipping in, so it’s about time our lads done the same, remember Wood has roughly the same scoring record as Wilson so give the lad a chance.
The owners have addressed our main weakness which was the defence and the cover in midfield so let’s be a bit more positive and let’s hope other players start taking their chances.

I agree about this striker situation. You can basically say Wilson won’t really have much of an impact on wether we stay up or go down. It’ll be too late by the time he returns. We did need two strikers, if Wood gets injured we are done for. The only other thing is playing maybe playing Maxi, Almiron and Frazer upfront, that way it’s a lot of pressure on the oppositions defence and there’s no doubt that front 3 word scare most defences and just get goals by create chance after chance. Dunno if that would be an option?
If we survive this season is Wilson worth keeping for next season?

Pleople saying about strikers, who has been the creative one that has been setting up our strikers? We’ve ASM that’s it! We have Bruno now he is an absolute baller. He will set up our player more than we’ve had hot dinners
it is not that simple just to get another striker in……
I think we have enough to score goals now, we’ve dropped 22 points from winning positions this season mostly down to defensive errors, yes it would’ve been great to have another striker but Howe is a good enough coach to play to our strengths and get results
Zapata is now injured for 4 months so that would have been a nightmare. Agree though another attacker would have been good, but realistically we are in a far better spot than last year. Last year we had to use Gayle, at least we have Wood now plus ASM can play there. Also Big Joe can do a job there.
