Carragher saying that more so paints the picture for me, never really understood how badly he fell off. But if by his 2nd season in Liverpool he was already fading away, then that explains why with more time/more injuries he looked like a shadow of his former self.
Torres, Gudjohnsen, Shevchenko, Raul, Anelka, Mikael Forssell, Johan micoud,Raul Tamudo of Rayo Vallecano. Balotelli, their style of playing with the ball it was entertaining.
Sport in general can be so cruel, injuries have caused so many unbelievably talented player's to end their careers far too soon. It's a devastating loss for both the player's themselves and the fan's who, didn't get to enjoy the skill and the entertainment those exceptionally talented player's would have undoubtedly of given them for many year's, if it wasn't down to injuries…. Fernando "El Nino" Torres was a prime example of this…. What an incredible footballer!!.🇬🇧❤️YNWA
I don't believe that. I don't believe that Carragher and the rest of the squad saw Torres was not the same player anymore. The fans certainly didn't see it and they know the players better than the players do. The fans could see Carragher had lost it years before Carragher accepted it himself. The players see what the want to see. The fans see everything else. The fans watch thousands of hours of football related content every season. When the players are done training or playing, they go home and forget about football all together. What happened to Torres at Chelsea was mostly mental, if he had stayed at Liverpool he would've been our best player along with Suarez for several seasons. Just imagine Suarez, Torres and Gerrard together. Uff…
I wonder why Carra said Torres' game against Chelsea was the only good one in his last season in Liverpool. Torres scored 18 goals in 22 games in his 3rd season. that's an insane ratio. Maybe he meant he got a lot of injuries and missed many matches or only counted the last several months
Such a talent, thats why CR7 & Messi needs to be more and more appreciated. To be on Top to recover be safe and look at it long term is very very important. Talent is nothing without hard work.
Carra is so full of shit watching him every day in training we know he wasn’t the same bs he’s just bitter and acted like a prick when Torres left Liverpool for Chelsea despite the owners not investing in the club. Why were then they so desperate to keep him be fr
These people and Surety and they're not sure and they always like that it's a control thing for them they believe that they should be sure. At all times and that's why they have not won the World Cup in that I'm sure it again in a long time it's just a common Play-Doh😅
The true reason carragher will always hate Chelsea is that popular dance with gianfranco Zola that had him floored, crawling, falling and creeping all at the same time . Zola fully turned him into a moron or should I say zombie on the pitch that day in 2003. So he must always have shit to say about Chelsea hahaha 🤣 😂 . Chelsea fans repost until the fool reads it lmao 🤣 . Chelsea fans should repost this until the fool reads it hahaha 🤣
Ya & Liverpool spent that Torres money on Andy Carroll & Stewart downing 😂😂! Nando was instrumental in Chelsea winning the Champions league & Europa league whereas Liverpool won nothing
The harsh reality is not everyone has the longevity of a messi or Ronaldo. So I think we should start appreciating players for what they did and not what could have been.
I was at the Chelsea game at Anfield and Torres scored 2 amazing goals …. Not in my wildest dreams did I ever think that 6 weeks later he would sign for Chelsea …..

Then 35 mill for andy caroll is 🤡
His armband said he was a red torres torres…….
It’s always injuries that ruin great players. Sturridge was a beast too, super talented but an injury prone player
Jamie seems still mad that torres left liverpool lol..
Only good game.. man you are a clown dude.

His semi-final goal in the Champions League, away at Barcelona, has put him in the Chelsea Hall of Fame forever. Legend.
For me the best spanish striker I have ever seen before his injury sad he had a career ending injury but still play he never recover.

When you think about it Torres being sold for £50m in 2010 was the first of many great calls made by FSG

Like Gerard once said, Torres was the best striker itw for 18 months. Between fall of 2007-2009
Prime torres… arguably in the top 3 strikers of the millenium
We spunked 35m of it on the awful Carroll. 😭
They got a Torres that scored 22goals in a season and Won the Champions League and Europa league….I want the Chelsea Torres 😅
