  1. It's true that rebuilds do not really work… When you have a prospect pool.

Some teams have emptied everything to stay on top (penguins), made bad decisions for a decade (islanders) or decided to do minor patching without fixing up the farm system (canadiens)

  2. 😊 here are my thoughts. Dobson gets to get paid American dollars and lives in Canadian dollars show his nine and change comes out to be a lot closer to 13. Just saying

  3. 8 to 9 million max. Unless he becomes solid defensively and makes 70+ points per year. Then it's a 10 mil guy. Can't wait for Habs' actual content. I'm tired of you guys over juicing that old dried up lemon.

  4. Dobson took less than he demanded from the islanders, him and roy didn’t get along. Roy’s system doesn’t fit a puck moving dman like Dobson

  5. Dobson is not worth but he’s getting paid plain and simple last year. Proved that he is not the quarterback that people think he is due to his 170 point season which very well at this point could be an anomaly he is sorry defensively terrible on the PK the power play last year proved that he doesn’t make That big of a difference there and could he be worth that in the future sure he could be worth 9 1/2 $10 million in the future but he’s not gonna be worth that for half of his contract at least to pay a guy 9 1/2 to 10 1/2 million dollars a year and you’re only gonna get maybe four out of those eight years to be worthy of 9 1/2 to 10 1/2 million dollars, so in the long run just to get four years worth of that production, which is not a guarantee to begin with you have to overpay significantly for the other four years it doesn’t make sense

  6. I just watched the Alex Romanov trade video. Let's talk about that 4th round pick, Isiah George that was picked up, now going to possibly make the team this year, and not this year next year.

  7. I agree with most people i believe the teams in the NHL are already overspending their future cap space. This cause salaries to exploses again. Montréal are lucky to have a GM, Kent Hughes who was a players agent. This help them to get the players at a right price.

Bergevin has a player and a scout background but he was terrible when he was negotiating deal with his favorite players and ending up overpaying those guys (Brandan Gallagher 6,5 M$/yr and Josh Anderson 5,5 M$). two guys who are going to end on the third or fourth Line this year and in the next year.

  8. Just remember this you can always teach a defenceman to get better at defence but you can not teach a defender to be better at offence !! When the cap goes up he will be good at that price I like this trade for the Habs they needed a stud right handed shot dman and they got him !! Also someone who saw the Habs as up and coming team . The islanders are going nowhere any time soon Dobson will win a cup in mtl sooner then the islanders that’s for sure !!
