Brilliant Dessouky. Huge mental strength to get through that in 5 games vs a mental beast like Momen. Feels like a turning point in Dessouky's career TBH.
Really happy for FD…great squash…Momens squash is so attritional – I think he relies on those drops too much sometimes but Dessy was just too on form to not get them back. Great final ahead !

Hope he can recover sufficiently and play an intelligent game against Ali or he will just be run around by Ali. Great to finally see Dessouky realise his potential and make a major final.
Superb by Dessouky – he really looks the part as a supreme squash player and his speed and retrieving are extraordinary. Momen also played well and his backhand drop control is something else as well as getting almost everything back. Abouelghar also played fantastically against Farag and it would be great to see either him or Dessouky in the world top three. The Shorbagys though missing in this tourney.
Only real issue I think Dessouky used to have was getting unnecessarily emotionally bothered with calls by the umpires. If he can get over that and just remained focussed on winning without distractions he will be one of the greats. This match against Momem was a classic. Well played to both of them.
Congratulations to Fares! I never thought he was able to win anything because I didn't think he had a mental capacity to do it. Always thought he based his play on pure power but showed maturity . Respect

i prefer to watch Gawad, so entertaining but unfortunately he doesn't win so often !
