  1. I grew up with the Aaronson brothers and I’ve been in that basement he was talking about, and he’s not joking when he says they had a lot of players down there all over the walls😂🙏. They had soccer nets everywhere, and soccer was all around them. Truly inspiring to see brenden’s success and his brothers paxten success in the game of soccer because it was earned from the start. These brothers both have been dedicated since the start, and it is truly inspiring for me to see them being from the same town as me🙌

  2. I was always one of the smallest guys too. In High School, my coach was primarily a wrestling coach who just also coached soccer. He put me at centerback if he ever played me. That was the last bad soccer coach of many (most were some well-meaning dad who had read the rulebook and had never watched a match)… but I never stopped loving the game. That's the story of many a US fan over the years. So glad to see things evolving in this country.

  3. Okay Aaronson, now don't think you've made it just because you're at a Prem team, remember Leeds is only midtable, they don't count for anything! Keep pushing in Qatar and make the Big 6 come calling for you! Go back to the Elite, if you can.

  4. We should not call this team the American national soccer team, we should called the MLS team, since they decided to change the color of the USA flag on the uniforms, I don’t consider them a representation of the USA national soccer team

  5. Don’t leave him on the bench Gregggg. Aaronson needs to start, if that means Weah or Reyna or Musah need to come off bench, so be it. Fit him in somewhere

  6. I know what its like to have a late growth spurt. I grew literally 13" in high school, lmfao. So I can respect starting smaller than everyone else tends to develop you in certain ways.

  7. I'm not a fan. We so many better players.

For every Brenen Aaronson from the burbs, there's a 100 better players who never make it. They were flipping burgers to help their family, while Aaronson's parents forked over 10's of thousands of $$$ every year for him to pursue a dream based more on privilege and class and less on skill and merit.

In the US, the youth soccer system at competitive levels is extremely expensive for average or poor families. They simply cannot afford it. The really ambitious families can apply for sparsely available scholarships to these private clubs, usually flush with member cash. I've never seen so much corruption by soccer moms in any other country. Coach gets manipulated and next thing you know the poor and talented mexican kid is on the bench while her son makes a mockery of the game.

I was hoping MLS would close this gap, but they have done the opposite. Instead of offering an academy style experience, where talent decides whether you play or not, they have built themselves another cash cow.

  8. I bet his father is supremely proud of his sons determination and work ethic! Wonderful story. Medford strikers junior club rode his success as well in south jersey.
