  1. US Fans should take a cue from Mexico and stop going to the matches until the USSF figures everything out and picks a real coach for the USMNT the right way. I think Mexico proved it, nothing hurts them more than hurting their pockets.

  2. We'll see, but this is Bruce Arena 2.0 all over again after the USSF inserted Gregg Berhalter back into the mix.

    A huge gamble.

  3. Danielle Reyna should be banned from all USMNT activities. She can watch her son play from her sofa at home. She’s turned the whole organization into a personal circus, even if it is already, she made it much, much worse

  4. US Soccer had an easy way out. The domestic abuse case, although petty by the Ryenas, very damning. His contract was expired. He benched and has beef with Reyna and his parents and he is an essential player. It's a pretty surprising, boring, and safe hire. Not gonna break out of the round of 16 again, thats for sure.

  5. "Oh yeah… you criticize my son who is perfect… well guess what I heard might have happened 30 years ago!". No reason he shouldn't have returned. So I guess Craig just has no idea what's going on.

  6. Nobody is saying Gio is bigger than the squad. For Leboeuf to only condemn Gio and not talk about how childish Berhalter was is laughable. This all began when Berhalter made the comments and that’s when Gios parents over stepped their boundaries. Also it’s clear Kieran Gibbs has never watched Gio play or else he would understand USA fans anger over his non involvement. Typical espn coverage 😂

  7. This is the only ESPN group that actually tells the truth. Muppets is a perfect explanation of the US Federation. Obviously, the aspirations of the US Federation are mediocrity and getting out of the group is the bar of expectations.

  8. I can’t name many other federations with the finances/infrastructure we have here with such incompetence in the front office. Maybe Germany might be the only federation worse right now.

  9. It seems to me there’s a lingering Cold War culture in US sports, where reaching the national team is more like a steady employment. The reason being, I would guess, to be able to compete with the Soviet system of full-time pros, in a world where everybody else were amateurs. I heard commentators complain that the USWNT WC roster wasn’t decided as early as half a year ago. But that’s not how national teams work in the rest of the world. Internationally the only ones employed are the head coach and his staff. Players come and go. Of course you aim for consistency, but injuries happen, players lose their starting 11 spot in their club team, etc. The coach picks the best team available to him on the day. The system has obviously served the US well, question is will it work as well going forward. The Cold War is over, and everyone's a pro these days.

  10. It's like they want to destroy our golden generation… Greg being rehired is insane. Who cares if some players support him, he was blatantly ouNetherlands the netherlands.

Pathetic the recent political choices of us soccer.

  11. The USSF is an F-ing joke and everyone knows it. The other thing… If I was Gio Reyna I would have given my parents the biggest chewing out in history. 'Hi, I'm a grown man. I'm an adult. I have my own money, life, career etc. etc. Could you please stay the F out of my professional matters please? This isn't town travel team soccer with someone's dad coaching.' Good f-ing grief this sh$t is so infinitely stupid it defies description. The moronic a-holes in the USSF have absolutely no business governing ANYTHING or presiding over ANYTHING in this sport. The ones that are former players were AVERAGE when compared to players around the world. They may have been a big deal here, but that doesn't translate to having a clue about running a national soccer federation. It's like a bunch of 12 year-olds being left to govern a state or something. It's absolutely pathetic.

  12. US Soccer learned nothing from missing the World Cup in 2018, and they doubled down on failure. Despite advancing to the knockout stage in 2022, their performance in the World Cup was mediocre, but because they advanced, the organization took it as a success.

  13. Even by FIFA standards…the USSF is an absolute joke. And don't get it twisted…we (USMNT fans) KNOW this. We're as embarrassed by it as anyone. Now we can FINALLY get back to the business of hiring…ANOTHER MLS manager. Christ Almighty…despair springs eternal!
