At first when i saw this analysis, i was shocked because you rated him over tchoaumeni and even shocked when you predicted his potential 84 (nearly GOAT level) . But day by day I"m realizing you were actually right. This guy is naturally more talented than most of the next generation players and his versatility is epic. Madrid using him as left back for 3 games… and he is being phenomenal both offensive and defensive transition. Great analysis !

I'm currently binging your videos, and there's something I've noticed about your CDM analysis that you don't do with wingers. That is, you're constantly comparing them to the Regista role. Rather than having a defensive mid who has a strong passing ability, you turn it on its head and say, "they aren't creative enough to be a Regista." That's like saying a striker with solid assist stats isn't good enough to be a False 9. Well, yeah, because rather than them not being good enough for X role, what you're talking about is an extra dimensions of Y role instead.
I always called Carrick "United's Pirlo" even though he wasn't a proper regista. Rather, he was a screening metronome. A combination of Busquets and Xavi (styles) whose role was to screen the ball and get the ball to those who then set up the goals/made something happen. Yet, the way you describe and constantly compare CDMs to registas would lesson his contribution to that United era because he wasn't an actual regista.
A DM who has an eye for a pass/driving run is a DM with a second or third string to his bow. I don't see the point in looking down on these players just because they aren't providing the constant killer balls.
He has solidified his spot at CDM.
