A load of poppycock if it had been a Man Utd player he would have already got like a 10 match ban , everyone knows these refs have an agenda against United. How about SACKING Marriner for "game-fixing".
They behaved like that because other manager said…C'mon its OT..after lost a match at OT
Ha ha, they've had a dressing down. Made clowns of themselves.
they both said "emotions were high at Old Trafford" why? it was deliberate handball stopping the ball from going into the net, every one knows it is an automatic sending off and a penalty (which United could easily have missed) why lose control of yourself like Fulham did
They're trying to sweeten the ban that the FA is preparing for Mitrovic.
I have been advised by my lawyers to apologise. Eventually!
They don't need to apologise. That is part of football!
Not going to make any difference to the bannage lol 😲😂😂😂
5 game ban for the pair of them, minimum.
They were a disgrace end of
Anything less than a half-season ban, Mitrovic will have got away with it. It doesn’t matter what you think of the refs performance, it doesn’t matter what else occurred, Mitrovic was well out of order for not just accepting the decision and getting on with the game. Refs are human beings. Do footballers apologise for having a poor game, eg missing a sitter? Making an awful pass? No they don’t. Every decision a ref makes is studied and complained about by one side or the other. I’m sick to the back teeth of managers expecting a penalty for the vaguest incidents that are refused week after week, yet somehow it’s different for them. A manager will spin a match to their own agenda, rarely accepting that they were outplayed, ever. Players see the manager do it and say the same. What’s the point Fulham claiming they were the better team against Man U? They imploded instead of proving they were the better team, and went out. Their own fault, no one else’s. I’m no Man U fan, either. Teams need to let their football do the talking, not their staff or players.
a bit late
refs should be allowed to throw hands if players get into their face lol,i understand complaining but getting into someones face and pushing them?
Anywhere outside a pitch that"s getting you knocked out, same should be for on the pitch!
Sorry Mitrovich, you just can't put your hands on a match referee. Does it matter if it was a controversial call? No,and it wasn't. You're a grown man, you should be able to control yourself. What are you teaching the young football players? You should be sat for the rest of the year, next time think about what you're doing… Be an adult for the younger players.
In an era where a fan can be banned from every stadium, for life, for using certain language, and rightly so in certain cases, how can a player even expect to play again, if only for the remainder of the current season after putting hands on a ref and screaming in his face…? If it were up to me I'd make an example of him for sure. It's 2023 not the 70s 🤬
I'm sure some clown will pop up with a few "whataboutisms" 🙄
Ahem…..the game was played how long ago? About twenty days ago…..and it took you guys so long to realise you did something wrong and that you needed to issue an apology? Wow…..yeah, you should be shown leniency when considering the punishment to be meted out to you.
I think an apology is always most meaningful after you’ve raved about the supposed injustice of the decision across multiple press conferences, are threatened with an extended ban, and then wait for a further two weeks to elapse.
It’s good to see that sincerity remains alive and well. As does irony.
It sure took him a Long time to calm down
I thought they were going to lodge a complaint against the "crooked" (their claim) referee? So why the apology?
reefer should ban for life
all the comments about man united paying the ref appear even more ridiculous now 🙂
What a load of *********. !!! Totally contrived statements…….
🤔 abit late lol
I still maintain my theory: These 2 got paid for throwing the game! Fulham were in control, even if they were to be reduced to 10 men, they could've still won the game. Now, they were reduced to 9 and coachless, even a clueless Man U couldn't pass the opportunity!
Emotions were running high, how? Fulham were in control of the game, It was a clear handball, as for Mitrovic I'm pretty sure the ref knew he was being spoken too as he was right up I'm his face screaming like a 2 year old.
Their behaviour was disgraceful. They should both get a severe punishment.
As a United fan I love this 😂 rubbing salt into the losing teams wounds
If you don't understand the value of an insincere apology, you're probably a child…
Liverpool fans: Yeah but what about Bruno? He should be given the death penalty
Yes he “tried” to grab the referee didn’t he. Let’s not talk about the fact he actually physically grabbed him. Let’s not talk about the fact he then squared up to him to the point where the referee has to take 6 steps backwards all in an effort to stay away from Mitrovic. —— but yes I agree he “tried” to grab the ref.
If this was the other way around and it was a United player instead that did the exact same as Mitrovic all hell would break loose. I can guarantee that sky would be saying something like “well during that game tensions were high and as a result Lisandro Martinez forcefully man handled the referee and kept charging towards him, and the referee had no choice but to take avoiding actions otherwise they’d have been face to face”.
We all know that’s what the story would have been if it was the other way around…. But yes, once again… Sky, “Mitrovic TRIED to grab the ref”. Well done & good factual reporting. 👍
It’s funny because not only is the reporting (in my opinion) morally wrong as it would be much worse headlines if Martinez did that…
But in addition to that, this reporting from Sky Sports is actually factually incorrect. *Mitrovic DID physically grab Chris Kavanagh*. So the actual reporting of this is factually wrong also.
Once again, well done Sky!.
edit- I said wouldn’t & meant hell would
That wasn't an apology by Mitrovic. It was more of an explanation why he felt justified to react the way he did. How arrogant is he to say he accepts the 3 game ban, it's as if he feels it wasn't justified.
Has to go down as the most pointless loss of self-control, the handball decision wasn’t controversial at all, it was as clear as day that the fulham player deliberately prevented a certain goal by punching the ball, such an obvious penalty and sending off.
Cheers to the stupid football fans who said the ref favoured United. 😒
Really stupid what Mitrovic did but it’s too late to apologise.
Oi dominated what William didnt handball united goal do really think Fulham would of gone on to won it not s chance man u were on the March it's a joke to say Fulham would of won what line west ham haters
Damn took them soooo long to come up with this ??? Goes to show their personalities n characters
10 match ban at least imo dissent is only getting worse in the sport
big boss start to hold their wages…
This episode reflects the very poor attitudes of coaches and players in what is often termed the best league in World football. More professionalism is required, a lot more.
Why apologize when the ref was also wrong I hope I think things can change for better
