Don't feel it's a squad player we need Matt. Carlos played games but was never first choice, Paul is kinda dodgy on the defensive aspect. Mings is ok at times but poor at marking. We need first choice, ready to slot in middle of defence, solid as a rock type.
I don't think Unai trusts his defenders on an individual basis.
Mings is only good for winning headers, I'm afraid. Judging by his lackadaiscal attitude on the pitch, I can't imagine him being too switched on during the heavy briefings that Unai and his team are known for.
At half time against Monaco, my stream had no commentary during half time. I could hear everything being said in the tunnel. Konsa was getting people fired up (only voice you could hear) but Mings didn't seem interested. He was first out the tunnel and came out noticeably before the rest of the team.
January window is tough, our fans expect Monchi to work miracles when so many clubs haven't even brought anyone in at all. I think this is a fine cheap signing if we can't bring anyone in in the summer and Emery knows him well so he'd bed in quickly. Would prefer if we could get an upgrade on Konsa but we might have to wait for the summer to do that, and as an upgrade on Carlos this is good enough. I'm sure we will have other targets UTV

Like Lenglet these are squad players to put a shift in for depth we need like lenglet did last season and when chambers also was on his way out also played some shifts in when injuries were high.
We need someone and he isn't the best but good enough for some depth for the rest of the season but we can go to the drawing board properly in the summer and invest in two proper cbs one left footed and one right footed for the squad for the outgoings of carlos and hause as Hause doesn't even play he's gone in the summer we might not need to buy two but atleast one if we use bogarde more too but I don't see him trusted enough like today when Mings was injured emery used digne not bogarde despite the overload and passing out digne just isn't good enough to make a shift in the cb role goodnjob for trying but I would have loved the opportunity emery trusts and gives bogarde a chance at moments like these since he doesn't trust bogarde with injuries happening I can see we need 2 players and clubs are still interested in bogarde like last summer
