  1. I'm ok with Larin coming off the bench against tired legs in maybe 65-70 but I still don't see his benefit as a starter

  2. Cyle vs Tani.. one plays in the championship, the other plays in La Liga. It is just a higher level.

The bigger problem is that we need a 2nd striker at premier league/David's level, and we don't have that option.

  3. I've followed him at Valladolid then Mallorca and now Southampton..he's perfect when playing in an open field rather than against a tight marking team. He has perfect acceleration and completely deceives defenders with his lazy walkabout off the ball. Great at performing against the play..his style is suitable against certain teams but is stiffled against very defensive teams..might be better to bring him on for 20 to 30 min at the end of the game. He always surprises me with his style and speed ..can he hard to defend against..LARIN keep at it …BraMPToN Bagsman !! Brampton Fans Canada needs you to cheer for your son.

  4. For me, the tactics are not emphasized nearly enough when talking about who the 2nd striker is, and also how J. David is played. Marsch's tactic is to NOT hold possession but every time they play a team that doesn't want possession, Canada seems happy to play with the ball instead of forcing the other side to have it. If our front line are selected because of their ability to press but then we have 65% possession against Bosnia and Qatar – this is the more fundamental problem.

  5. Jesse loves Larin, so he will definitely start if he continues to play well for Southampton & he is afterall Canada's #2 all time goal scorer & he plays a strong defensive game & he has good chemistry with David too.
Oluwaseyi can't score even when he has a wide open goal.

There is However one other possibility though & that is if Marcelo Flores recovers from his injury, I would love to see Marsch do what Jimmy Brennan suggested, especially when we play versus a team that plays with a low block & try having Flores, who looked terrific taking on multiple players with skilled, quick ball control & dribbling through them in very tight spaces, with excellent passing too, play the #10 & have Jonathan David play much closer to the goal in the #9 position.

  6. Whoever is up top, just be ready to shoot the ball, please. Every guy except David takes way too long to decide to shoot, or try to make a fancy pass to a guy who's not expecting it failing to capitalize on what should have been decent chances, if not at least rebounds and chaos in front of the net. Larin falls into the category of losing timing and hesitancy, maybe because of lack of confidence, compared to his earlier days.

  7. We need someone to step up and finish unfortunately Marchs system does not offer any open play goals press press all game and turn over the other team.We need open play goals or set pieces or we will continue to be tie game Merchant's 🤷‍♂️

  8. I know Marsch doesn’t like this format, but I still think a 4-2-3-1 formation would work better. This changes the whole debate. J. David is alone up top, and Larin or Tani come on as subs. Promise won't be fit.

  9. When comparing Larin with Tani, the fact that La Liga is of higher quality than the Championship does not mean much when Tani has been getting such limited minutes at Villareal. But the main problem is that Tani, although possibly a better all-round footballer, is a striker who, since leaving MLS, hardly ever scores either for club or country. In recent matches for Canada, he had a great opportunity from 10 yards against Ecuador and hit the keeper, and then against Tunisia, J. David chested a ball to him that he skied over the bar. Your first choice striker has to score at least one of those. I wish Promise were healthy but in his absence, I'd go with the in-form Larin.
