I think he'll be a bad signing. We did need another deep lying midfielder, but one who progresses the ball better, not a combative ball winning DM. Rice/Norgaard, Zubimendi/Norgaard and Merino/Norgaard are all dead midfields.
We needed someone who replaces Jorginho's talent for picking passes through the lines, or Partey's talent to drop a shoulder and ghost past the press. Otherwise we'll find outselves with a lot of sterile possession, unable to get the ball into the forwards early enough that they can cause damage.
Sure he can come on late when we're trying to close a game out, but that's all I see him being good for
Would have loved those defensive stats and headers at city but we already have 4 starters over 30 😢

I think ppl forget tht whilst arsenal do need a striker and it should defo be there priority position, they also need an effective super squad of at least 15 first team player but arguably 20-25. Its more intelligent signing to build out there squad rather then a must have. As long as they get there striker i dont see a problem wth it 🤷♂️

Arsenal is the only team that need 11 dm in their line up. They manage to convert 2 dm into a LB and striker last season. So maybe they looking for more dm to convert into rb and cb next

Let’s see how it plays out first. Not holding my breath and tbh its a mid table signing even as a back up. He might not get that many minutes and when he does will it be that impactful. Plus I’m sure Brentford are happy to let him go especially on the cheap. At 31 he will be on the decline and potentially just had his last good season if the legs are going. Quick cash grab and move on before the decline really sets in
