Eustaquio. Obvious in part, I think, because of the commentary provided by One Soccer. So… sad to hear the talk of Davies. In my opinion he's likely the guy Herdman lost in the room, his play on the national team has become selfish to the point that the team wasn't made better by him last year. Be nice to see another midfielder emerge that allows playing without Eustaquio though – playing full out every game threatens his day job with Porto.
Last Year, a lot of people were calling for Eustaquio to get it. I'm happy he got it this year, he's been class for Porto for a while, and in this national team, he is the most important player. The vibes he gives out on the pitch and his talent make him extremely valuable. I'd even make him captain, since he's been such a great forward force on the pitch.
Lacasse was certainly the standout for me in this last window. She looked so fantastic. Making crossovers look so natural and easy like you just don't see from the women very often. Great movement on and off the ball. For a while there it seemed like the women just didn't have any teeth at all in the final third but Lacasse and Leon on the wings with Prince in the middle seems promising. When Deanne Rose is healthy she also looks great. The future looks promising for the women.
