Who would be a better fit for Liverpool? Lamine Camara or Mamadou Sangare?
I think who we sign in this position and how he performs will determine our season. The only thing I’m worried about is the annoying +1 we always have on defense, we can’t press with one man less and we are wide open when the opposition bypasses the press. We press kind of high but the center backs are low, one midfielder stays, so when they bypass the press we have a black hole in midfield that not even prime Kante can cover that amount of ground and we definitely need a dm, and a one that can help in buildup because that’s another problem, but we are not improving defensively in my opinion with any player unless either we press better and higher or we play a mid block but I’m done with tactics this year like there’s no way with 3 passes they are 1v1 with the keeper

Reminds me of Klopp's last summer transfer window. There was a lot of talk about Kone and/or Thuram coming to Liverpool as DMs and I remember discussing with other fans about how similar they were (at least to the eye) and which of the two was a better bet.

Why would either of these players be interested in joining such a shambolic club?
Problem is a lot of them French teams are championship standard if you put them in the prem they would be fighting relegation bottom half at least with these players you need to look how they done against top level teams it's a chance you take if they can go the next level
Been keeping tabs in Camara since last season and was hoping we’d sign him last summer. Hope we pull the trigger on him this summer.
The only transfer that will make a huge positive difference to Liverpool FC is to transfer Slot out of our club. Losing Slot will make a HUGE difference.
Sangare on DM and Camara in CM. Both are affordable to replace Endo and either Jones, Macallister or Elliot.
Wharton is expensive and his physicality is below Sangare & Camara⚽

We bought supposedly top players and they’ve turn out to be flops
The thing this team needs more than anything in midfield is pace, strength, tackling and aggression. Yes, Fabinho was a good footballer / passer as well as a ball winner, but so is Sangare. There isn't much point buying Camara, who is a short no. 8, and asking him to play as a 6. Ugarte hasn't just failed because he isn't a good enough passer, everything was going wrong with united at the time.
Who cares about (Ligue) 1 numbers. Indeed, Sabermetrics never takes into account…..times they gave up on covering (Macca) , or challenges they totally pulled out of so that it isnt even classed as a 'challenge lost' (Gravs speciality).
I hope we use inverse stats = times our midfield 'didnt do' and factor in part subjective criteria such as 'stats against EXPECTED results'.
We need two holding midfielders as Ryan cannot play all the games. The drop off this season is too many games played by just 4 senior midfielders which seem crazy to me. I remember not that long ago LFC had 7 quality midfield options. Jurgen had Keita, Milner, Hendo, Gini, Fabinho, Lallana, Jones, & even Thiago + others he could trust to fill in.
Think we’re getting Wharton so whoever is the more physical
Seems a pointless subject when we don't officially have a manager in place for next season, if I know surely you know that slot is gone. Until the manager is sorted few people care about anything else anyway, if slot was in charge who ever is playing next season who would really want to watch it, I know some would even when it makes their eyes burn so you don't actually have to answer that!
If we are not signing Micky van de Ven these don’t matter.
I think next transfers have to come once the manager situation is concluded. It's honestly just really hard to think positively about LFC at the moment – and this will be the case until we get a new manager.
Adam Wharton just seems like a no brainer .. proper no.6 and the risk is so much lower than from someone from another league

We need proven PL players with leadership qualities in the midfield. Not unproven young players with potential. Buy Adam Wharton and/or Elliott Anderson.
Sangare sounds like a Klopp player who counterpresses and wins the balls all over the pitch – a Henderson type, exactly what we need IMO! Maybe he's shooting so much because he's winning the ball high up, and notice that he has many more SOTs than Camara

We come to the same conclusion here. I like Sangare, but in 2026 i’m not sure a player like him is more than a quality weapon/situational player. Camara is raw but has the upside to be a pretty special player
