  1. This is awesome, as having Eustaquio in good shape & form is huge for our Canadian team! He is the steady rock in our midfield, both defensively & offensively & he is an extremely important part of our transition game. If Davies & Bombito are in good form, our speed from the back will be 2nd to none in the world (both have been officially clocked among the fastest paced players in Europe) & our transition from defence to a sudden offence will surprise many, so an efficient midfield will be pivotal to that transition from defence to offence & with Eustaquio's experience & Kone's speed & skill, along with our very speedy & talented wingers, the ball should get up to the forwards very quickly, creating more offence than we have enjoyed in a long time.

Stephen's comments about being in great playing form in 2022 is very interesting, as he was playing full minutes with FC Porto, but he arrived to the World cup totally exhausted.
Perhaps the fact that many of our star players have just returned from long-term injuries, may actually turn out to have a silver lining, if they can get themselves physically fit & in decent form, they should be very fresh for this World cup… Time will tell; but it has been a long time since Canadian fans were able to feel this positive about the full compliment of our star players, as the constant injuries always played havoc with our line-up; but by the same token, it also allowed our depth players to develop.

  2. When Stephen retires I hope he becomes a coach. I think he would make a good manager. He's got a calm level head and you need that in management. Great Interview !

  3. Super happy to hear that Eustaquio is fresh. But let's not forget that we have some other very good midfielders, so no need for him to play 3x90min. Give your all for 65 min and let fresh legs on the field.
