Yes, he can be but only if the other 10 players do their job. Under Hellberg he often had nothing to do so I dot want to waste transfer fees and wages on a player who will likely not be needed for 80% of a game. Spend at the opposite end of the pitch and bring in another promising youth player
Currently, he isn't good enough. However, he's got talent and with good coaching and advice, he will learn, improve and cut out the half a dozen mistakes he made last season. He's one of our own and definitely needs support.
Boro need a goalkeeper to give him competition, they definitely need to strengthen the defence to give him protection, he needs to be very vocal and demanding and he needs to boss the players in front of him, he needs to watch some Peter Schmeichel videos.
Keep Sol and get a strong second keeper whom he can compete with and learn from. Probably his mistakes were more noticeable because the other 10 didn't score when they should have and his actions became deciding. It was his first season. Give the kiddo a bit more time I say. He also had plenty of great saves to be fair.
Just throwing it out there…….. better g.k coach? Granted it was a clanger to gift hull the goal in the final BUT would we be having the same debate if he had been a hero and saved a pen and we won had it gone to pens ?
Phil, have you actually studied his stats – for the first half of the season he was one of the top three in the EFL Championship – and his second half of the season isnt shabby either – but his stats are really solid for champo keeper. I suspect this video will age badly as I suspect Sol will become a world class keeper.

However I would not waste huge amounts on a keeper, we need to fix the other end of the park – at Wembley we offered nothing in attack, and as such were always going to be at risk of being hit on the break in the way that cost us. I would pump my cash on finding a decent goal scorer, and a creative player or two who can break up the low block with options. If we finish the chances we make, the discussion about the odd mistake from the keeper will evaporate – because it wont be a discussion.
Guys like him because of their size can save the shots at body length, but his feet are in cement and his positioning is wayward , the goal Soton scored from the wing ,when he was covering the near post was terrible , I hope the Boro don't go for Frazer Forest, he's worse I've seen Camels get down quicker

The defence looks good with Malanda, Jones, Ayling, Brittain, Fry if he stays, Borges, need a LB.

We need to bring in proper competition for Brynn imo, not replace him as such. I think he’s a good keeper who’ll get better
