I think having elder statesman in a playing squad is incredibly important. Henderson will have very limited minutes on the pitch, but squad chemistry, particularly at international level is really important. If I was looking for a late goal I would rather have Palmer or Foden on the pitch. But players like Henderson are critical to successful teams.

Jordan Henderson has won basically everything at a top club level, including the UCL and Prem, yet people still harp on like he’s not or never been an elite player. If his name was “Hernandez”, “Hendinho” or “Jord Van Hendo”, those same people would be uttering his name alongside the likes of Frank Lampard and Paul Scholes.

Palmer and Foden just haven't been good enough this season. It's good to have a manager that ain't listening to: fans, pundits and the media.
I remember years ago when we had a midfield of: Beckham, Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard with Shearer and Owen up front. It looked great on paper and: fans, pundits and media etc would have crucified any manager that left any of them out. But in reality against good teams they weren't good enough at the dirty work, as they had other players in their clubs that did that.
A happy bonded and together camp can be the difference.
