Man City overhauled their whole setup hiring Tiki from Barca and putting others in place to get the recruitment right and also revamp the whole academy. If Newcastle know what's good for them, quality battle ready players and behind the scenes work is where it's at.
Wasting money on a high profile problematic ego like Coutinho or similar when the team isn't in a place to thrive would be as bad as Man United right now.

From what Kieran Trippier has said about Tottenham and Daniel Levy I got the picture that was one place he certainly didn't want to return to.
They are not a good club, and Levy is not a chairman/CEO that people like to deal with.
Levy's is never really going to achieve any real level of sustainable success at Spurs.
I think that Trippier has made the right choice for himself in the long run.
