So, I have to be honest. Great we are getting points…BUT from a quality standpoint, I think we have to be the worst in the WC. We can't string together 5 passes. We have no buildup from the back..we just launch the ball downfield and pray. The backline is terrified of moving forward. I get it that Belgium Is strong..but I'm watching Cape Verde, curacao, iraq, Jordan etc and I'm sorry, they're quality is better! Eventhough iraq is getting thumped, they are fast and able to hold posession for a minute at least. Even up 1 player we had such bad quality. But i guess it's not a beauty contest. Just get the points

Iran got their tactics right vs Belgium, when there is a talent gap , thats the way to go. Against NZ we were nicely attack minded but left our defence vulnerable. But overall more positives. We have just Mehdi Taremi as a “ good goal scoring” striker …. thats a major bother. However that said , i think against Egypt we have a really good chance. I disagree with the comments that Team melli cant string 5 passes together, against teams with our “ talent pool” we do play good passing football many a time , its not just Tournament football but over all in Qualifications that we know how this team plays
So Egypt becons:
1. Press their backline hard early ( 4 4 2 will suit us more against them)
2. Dominate the physicality of the game
3 Dont lose our defensive shape throughout

Iran has many young quality players but they are always sitting on the bench! This mentality of using old, out of shape geriatric players need to change. Experience is good to have, but you need to run in this game. The only reason Iran didn’t lose 4-0 was their goal keeper. He had a great day. The rest of the team with an exception of a few central defenders were completely dominated and ineffective.

Can you guys discuss the future of Iran's team in a podcast episode? I don't know too much about the youth teams and what the future looks like, given the current teams age and likely mostly new squad next world cup. Great work.
