This unofficial Official Jaguar Gator 9 historian will remind everyone you made a video about ill-advised trash delivered by Jets Coach Walt Michaels before a game against the Cowboys in 1978. In the spirit of JG9’s video about the similarities between Super Bowls 23 and 56 to which he linked in this video, and in the spirit of my overthinking things I’ll point out the similarities between the trash talk delivered by Michaels and the trash talk delivered by Taylor.
Both came before interconference games hosted by New York teams.
Both games were between an AFC team eliminated from the playoffs and an NFC team who went in with a record of 11-4.
Both times it was someone from the AFC team delivering ill-advised trash talk.
Both times the NFC team won.
Both times the NFC team would advance to the Super Bowl in Florida, where they’d lose.

I always thought Fred Taylor was a little better than Edgerrin James who is in the hall. But what do I know?
Seems like he was kinda right, even though he didn't do much to help his team. He had a bad game, but the NYG offense/special teams bailed out the defense in the 4th quarter and the Jags put up 25 points on the Giants. The Ravens defense was obviously superior that season, but even the Titans defense was better. NYG's defense got blown out in the Super Bowl as well.
Freddy T. lived in the dorm room next to me my junior year. Ben Hanks, Mo Collins, Reidel Anthony, and Jacquez Green were on that floor, too. It was surreal to watch them playing an NCAA College Football video game as themselves whereas the rest of us would have to create ourselves in the game.

I think the case for Fred Taylor is pretty strong, too.
He’s 17th all-time in rushing yards. 14 of the 16 guys ahead of him are in the HOF, and the other 2 are Frank Gore and Adrian Peterson.
Plus, his 4.6 YPC puts him ahead of, or on par with, contemporaries such as Gore, Peterson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Edgerrin James, Marshall Faulk, Jerome Bettis, Curtis Martin, and Emmitt Smith.
The more I think about it, the more I believe he has to be in.
Fun Fact: Super Bowl XXXV had the worst QB matchup in the history of the game(Collins vs Dilfer).
If I were and NFL player, no matter what I thought to myself about any team I was going to face, I'd be talking them UP, for two reasons: (1) we're all in the freakin' NFL, how cool is that? and (2) so I never pull a Fred Taylor.
