This list shows what I've thought all along about this draft – it's a total crapshoot. How both Kent Johnson and Mason McTavish are ranked above Matty Beniers is jaw dropping. I'm absolutely certain that McTavish won't be drafted at #2, as certain as I am that Raty won't be the third European skater drafted either. As a Wings fan I'd be absolutely delighted if Beniers was there for us… same for Guenther or Eklund. This is certainly one list that I won't be paying much attention to……
It would be super cool if canucks got 1st or second pick or got Luke Hughes

Bottom line: draft is wide open, should be some cool surprises

lysell is being ranked higher overall by most scouts than nhl central scouting ranked him among european prospects. that should say everything you need to know about their credibility

Seattle is the wildcard to the whole 1st round, they could go any direction, yet going with a center like Berniers seems you want that spine of the team to start building your prospect pool around. I would not rule out a dman like Edvinsson or Hughes either, but I suppose a lot will depend on who the Kraken select in in the expansion draft.
Draft lottery is Wednesday, get ready.
None of this is a surprise. NHL central scouting always favors big players and they hate small players. It’s why they had Kyle Turris over Patrick Kane and Lawson Crouse over Mitch Marner

Mctavish at #2 in NA is a bolt take but at least it's respectable. Beniers falling is another interesting opinion but I'm sure they have their reasons for it.
However, the thing which I can't look past is Lysell being that low. Honestly, it's comical and makes me question this list as a whole – to the point where I wonder f they make this list just trying to generate controversy and clicks.

I really don't understand why scouts keep propping up Simon Edvinsson too. The offensive tools, size, and skating are all great, but his consistency, and decision-making really turned me off from drafting him in my viewings. His coverage and positioning is all over the place, and the offensive results that he produced have yet to convince me that he warrants the consideration he's getting as a potential top 5 selection. He'll either make a GM look like a genius in 5 years, or will be a complete bust. I also disagree with McTavish. His goalscoring is fantastic, and think he's still a top 20 talent in the draft, but I'm not sold on his playmaking, and in my viewings, I'm not 100% sold on his ability to drive play at the professional level. Then again, I could be completely wrong, but I really think both 2nd ranked prospects are questionable, given the other talent in that area.
McTavish will not go top 5, probably between 7 and 10. Beniers will go as high as number 1 or 2 (depending on team need) but no lower than 5.
