I pretty much agree. However thinking in Tuchels terms it's likely. Hazard was further down the track when Sarri tried him as a false 9 and he neither liked it or was effective. Having had 10 days rest and trained since Wednesday I would prefer Lukaku to start. Villas centre backs will try to muscle and kick Pulisic out of the game.
Really looking forward to this game, as I do with every Boxing day! Just hoping whatever line-up we use, we get our recent chemistry back on the pitch soon as players return from injury/illness! I'm glad that our Top midfielders are finally finally back. I do think Mendy will still play the next couple of games before AFCON. Good prediction video though as I agree with most of your other picks:) I do expect more clean sheets now!

Here are my thoughts:
– Edou Mendy will start, don't see Kepa starting till Mendy is off to Africa
– Same back 3 for me
– Jorginho starts along with Kanté or Kovacic. My gut feeling says Kovacic will start, but will not play beyond 60'. If Kanté starts, he won't play beyond the first half. Kovacic seems to be in a slightly better position than Kanté. Touchwood. Will be interesting to see how they both are managed
– Yes, Alonso & RJ will start
– Callum & Lukaku may make it to the bench, might not play
– If Ziyech is fit (as of now he's not), then it should be Mount-Pulisic-Ziyech.
If Ziyech is not fit, I would start Harvey Vale instead of Pulisic & change the front 3 formation accordingly. CP10 can't play as a striker, much as I want him to succeed in that position.
So… since more Villa players have tested positive for Covid, I'm changing my earlier scoreline prediction, which was 2-1. Now, it's 3-0. That's generous considering our finishing woes. 😄
I'm not sure whether Gerrard not being there on the touchline will help us that much. (For the record, I don't wish Covid on anyone)
