Yeah, it was disappointing. Unimpressive play, to say the least. Not helped by Berhalter playing key players out of position for no good reason.

It wasn't a bad idea from GGG to put Aaronson in center midfield for a creative presence. Yeah, Gio is probably the best option there. However, Aaronson just didn't have a good game. Sargent wasn't good enough, again, either. Hopefully we see plently of Pepi in the next 2 games.
Brenden Aaronson isn’t more creative than Sebastian Lletget. There’s no comparison in his passing ability or dribbling tricks. Aaronson has ZERO dribbling tricks in his arsenal, but he is good dribbler at pace. Aaronson is faster so he can burst forward more on the dribble. When you play him in the midfield, once he bursts forward, he still is 35 yards from the goal and has all four defenders in front of him. Lletget can hit a 35-yard left-footed chip off the sprint, and I’ve never seen Aaronson do anything like that. Lletget toe poked a cross in this game off the half-bounce, which is what impressed Maurice Edu because it’s super hard

I felt the same way about Jedi not starting at left back. And putting Dest on the left side…next to Jedi's teammate at Fulham. And scratched my head about Gio not going as CAM. He's been fantastic as CAM for BVB. And Josh? My heart just wants him to overcome the finishing drought he's been experiencing with the USMNT! He's solid in defense; he's a solid mid holding player. He makes runs. He just hasn't finished yet. I too hope that other strikers get a chance. I didn't think Prefok was a clear replacement – he's got talent, but he's raw. He's got a big body he needs to learn how to control. Aaronson has serious ball skills and could be a threat. We have the team. We just need to let the best team in the best positions be on the field and watch the magic happen. A 0-0 draw isn't horrible, but it's not what I was expecting. Hoping Canada is where we see it shine.
I’m disgusted with the results!!! El Salvador is not going to qualify for the World Cup. This should have been a win. Every game during qualifying is critical. Berhalter had too much confidence in himself. Put the best players in their natural positions regardless. This feels a bit eerie when we failed to quality 4 years ago. It’s just one game but we must rise above the level of our competition. Disgusting performance 🤢. Kings of Concacaf must prove that every game. It’s early, and you can’t qualify early but you can lose it!
2 pretty good left backs in the roster and he plays the best right back as a left back. It was a pretty annoying game to watch all around. Hopefully GGG will have the team ready for Canada and Honduras. Let's go, USA.

I'm curious what it takes for Horvath to have an equal opp. After the Swiss friendly, where he kicked ass, he then shone in Nations when called upon. Def a not-rated by 3G player IMO.

El Salvador did not outplay us and we should've done better. Berhalter should've done better.
I just dont understand why Gregg is so adament at not putting Reyna in the midfield. Wasting so many opportunities. Also Dest at left back is beyond me. That game couldve been so much less frustrating to watch if the players were just put in the right positions
IMO, Berhalter dropped the ball last night. With all the talent that he had available last night, I don't see him having any excuse for why the team couldn't muster at least one goal. Between the formation and the line-up, I'm holding him responsible for compromising his team's ability to get a win last night.
I understand that the players didn't help their cause by giving away possession and that this was the first away game for most of the players from last night's match for the USMNT. Also, I know that teams are going to have matches that are a grind; the USMNT had had five 1-0 wins in the 2021 Gold Cup (albeit on home turf).
However, the job of a coach is to put players in a position to succeed, and I don't feel that Berhalter did that against El Salvador.
First, players playing out of position. Arrason, Dest and Reina. Gregg has to take the blame.

Not sure why most USMNT fans are disappointed by last nights result. USMNT hasn't won on the road in a WCQ in 8 years!!!! That's not going to change anytime soon. Sit back and get ready for a tough WCQ. If anybody thought we would pick up an easy 3 points then they weren't really paying attention what this region is about or how USMNT is about. Its always a grind
Last night was a good game. I am happy for 🇸🇻 and happy for 🇺🇸 There are about 6 or 7 Selecta players with dual citizenship American/Salvadoran and I’d love to see both teams make it to the World Cup.
Agreed with every single thing you said. I would like have seen Brooks in there and also we need to drop Sargent completely and give someone else a try. It would be great to see more of Pefok or Pepi.

Having talented players on a squad doesn't mean they would win. El salvador 🇸🇻 hustle El salvador has improved lots just how difficult it was for Mexico 🇲🇽 to beat them at the gild cup plus El salvador was at home of course El salvador wasn't going to loose. El salvador will also get a draw in the USA. El salvador also had a few young players under 23 no excuses. Teams can also improve and El salvador has won against usa. Usa is not a power house like Brazil, Argentina Germany and Spain.
Even real Madrid and Barcelona have lost against 2 and 3 devision trams n the USA squad won't beat a 3erd devising team in Spain.

The playing players out of position and heavy rotation was here with Klinsmann and arena's second stint. I'm thinking it's an organization problem. They maybe rely heavy on an analytics team that believes in that bs. We need all of it removed. There's a lot of people in the federation causing these problems.

El Salvador has improved a lot, coach Hugo Perez has brought new mentality, El Salvador is NOT the easiest team today, El Salvador made USMNT look bad at moments, El Salvador had de possesion, better pass accuracy, and some good individualities.
El Salvador was the “easiest” road game to get the 3 points. Now I definitely don’t see a road win for USMNT. Better win all the home games.

I was in the stadium supporting El Salvador but in the entire match i was wondering how Sergiño Dest was playing in the left back? he was totally humiliated by Jairo Henriquez, Whats hapenning in Berhalters head? Dest is the right winger from FC Barcelona and should play the same position in US or that will be your weak point.
