Honestly, it needs to be a clean sweep of executives and coaches including Jones and Monty. It’s really hard to believe that those two aren’t aware on some level and not speaking up looks even worse

If we sign and trade Ayton we need to get someone with star level upside in return. He was a #1 overall pick, getting someone without star level talent doesn’t make sense. It’s gonna be complicated but in my opinion I think we need to find a way to smooth things over with Ayton and pay him his money and wait to trade him in a year or 2 if he isn’t playing up to par. But I do think our best bet is paying him and mending the relationship. I think the ability is there but the fight and passion in him needs improvement to make that next step. If not then I think we need to do similar to how Philly did with Ben Simmons and hold on to him until we get a trade with someone of equal value and talent in return. If not I think we’ll end up regretting it because as disappointed as I was with this years playoffs players like Ayton don’t just show up everyday. He is a solid player but I think he needs to dig deeper and be more aggressive in the paint. Start backing guys down more and finishing with emphasis. I saw many shots where he could’ve just jammed it on a defender but instead settled for a hook shot or a fadeaway jumper instead of just going up and jamming it with force. If I’m Ayton’s size I would be jamming on everyone in the paint and I’d be bumping people out of my way to clear a path to the rim. Like I said this is just my opinion but I hope things can be repaired because I do love his game. Just needs to dig a little deeper because we need him playing at his full potential. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.
