  1. How can you even think its NOT a goal? If you've followed football for a while, then you know this is a perfectly legal goal.

  2. Sneaky as F but it's the responsibility of the ref to call for the free kick to be taken again. Unsportsmanlike, but that bloke's made himself a target and that moment will hang around his neck forever

  3. That's why the 1st defender usually stands real close to the ball. If the kickers asks for 10 yards they then have to wait till the ref gives the ok. If not this can happen and is legal.

  4. From IFAB/FIFA :
"A quick free kick is taken with the referee’s permission very quickly after play was stopped. The referee will usually only allow the quick free kick if:
➡ the kick is taken from the correct position
➡ the ball is stationary (not moving)
    ➡ no player is injured
➡ the referee has not distracted the offending team by, e.g., starting to manage 9.15 m distance from the ball or calling a player for a warning, caution (YC) or sending-off (RC)
The whistle is not needed for a quick free kick to be taken."

  5. hahaaa that will teach them for wasting time and all that drama about the wall and nine out of 11 the ball goes high or wide. So sick of the time wasting.
